Christmas Lights Experience

Pros:

  • "Amazing walk through the park in the darkness with festive lights all around."
  • "Fantastic display of lights! So magical and calming. The different Christmas songs and lights displays on land and water were all brilliant!"
  • "Beautiful night walk with a wide array of beautiful lights set to music. Felt like a performance."
  • "Absolutely amazing! Truly enjoyed! Displays are spectacular, great choice of music, well guided throughout."

Cons:

  • "Didn't spend the £2 for single marshmallow will take our own next time but plenty of little festive shops and rides to spend if you want too."
  • "Our only lessons learnt was our foot wear, it was quite wet/muddy on parts of the trail as expected."
  • "This year and last year have just been average. Food is mega expensive, but average at best."
  • "Rides were cute for toddlers, but that's about it. Given how much you pay for entry, you'd think parking would be free."

Deer Park and Wildlife

Pros:

  • "The deer park at Dunham Massey is fantastic for kids. They roam free and there are a few volunteers dotted around to ensure people don't get too close so it's very safe."
  • "Great parks with wild deer wandering free."
  • "Beautiful deer park where you to can walk through and experience the deer roaming free and often walking up and feeding right next to you."
  • "Lovely place to visit. Lots of walking and it was wonderful having the Deer just roam past as we were walking round."

Cons:

  • "Unfortunately a few idiots always want to get closer than is sensible and spook the deer, so it would be good to see more wardens or volunteers on-site, especially on busy days."
  • "Abit disappointed that on arrival when declared that we had our dog with us that we are unable to enter the gardens until midday as the trust doesn’t allow dogs in the mornings."
  • "Lovely park and a great walk. Was there most of the day and still didn't manage to do most of the park. Stunning views and wildlife, shame people can't learn to respect the space the animals deserve."
  • "Very busy here, the queue for the cafe was snaking outside. The walk around the grounds are beautiful. The deer are very calm and tame, wandering around the park."

Gardens and House Tour

Pros:

  • "The gardens are well maintained and fully accessible."
  • "There is also the garden area which is a wonderful place to explore, so many places to find some fantastic plants, trees and flowers."
  • "The gardens are lovely for a little walk around, play for the kids or sit on one of the benches."
  • "Lovely park to wander round, enjoying the woodlands and looking out for the deer and rabbits."

Cons:

  • "House was closed for winter, and couldn't take the dogs in even if it was open. Took us about 2 hours to walk the grounds and gardens. Would return."
  • "We checked online first to make sure everything was open and it said it was but actually the mill was closed which was disappointing."
  • "Didn't get time to go around the house but the gardens are decent for a quick stroll."
  • "Abit disappointed with the garden, not a lot to see, a bit more like a wooden area than a garden."
