Family and Child-Friendly Environment

Pros:

  • "The kids enjoyed their chicken and chips and then ran off to play in the playground, which was fully visible from our table."
  • "The epitome of a win - win parent and child dining experience!!!"
  • "Four adults with two six-year-old kids. Bonus stars for being next to a playground."
  • "Service was top notch !! Friendly staff and cosy family-friendly environment with a play area right in front for the young ones !!"

Cons:

  • "Staff were very discriminating and didn’t like my friend and I there with our two toddlers."

Quality and Variety of Food

Pros:

  • "All dishes are full of flavour, generous portions and great presentation."
  • "For starters, we had the pate and white asparagus before sharing the lamb shoulder which were all incredibly delicious."
  • "The steak was definitely the highlight of the dinner for me, and the seabass Wellington was very special indeed."
  • "The food at this restaurant is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is meticulously prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients."

Cons:

  • "Duck was tasteless and chewy, not tender in the least."
  • "The duck breast and pastry with braised duck and foie gras was poor. Duck was chewy and braised duck with foie gras was very rich, sickly."
  • "Had the asparagus in sabayon which was extremely bitter. The leek pâté tasted weird was surrounded by a moist pastry and was unfortunately inedible."
  • "When I mean a hidden gem, I really mean a hidden gem. The food unbelievable, every mouthful of food left a pleasing smile and the look of sheer delight with a little sound of 'mmmm' as they swallowed the food."

Service and Staff Attitude

Pros:

  • "The servers were discreet, well informed, attentive and friendly with humour."
  • "Service was the best though.. Alex and his colleagues took amazing care of us."
  • "Our waiter was very friendly and chatty and explained the menu throughout and that it was meant for sharing."
  • "The staff is friendly but also rude, sometimes they don't make an effort."

Cons:

  • "The restaurant was obnoxiously loud, to the point where it was challenging to hear each other with normal volume speech."
  • "Service was efficient but not attentive, with the occasional pass by."
  • "However, the service at this restaurant is not on par with the food. The waitstaff is often inattentive and slow to respond to requests."
  • "Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for lunch because there was only one vegetarian option on the menu and it was a starter of artichoke rissoto."

Ambience and Setting

Pros:

  • "Very nice environment as well, we sat in the conservatory and it was really pretty and romantic with the fairy lights."
  • "Outstanding atmosphere in a beautiful setting."
  • "The restaurant itself is lovely and the quality of food is great."
  • "The location is odd. Embedded in the middle of a car park, small green and social housing."

Cons:

  • "A very enjoyable lunch after a walk along the river and then through Bermondsey."
  • "The restaurant is exactly what French restaurants should be - a handful of innovative dishes cooked perfectly."
  • "The food is good quality, but a bit expensive, at least for the area."
  • "Went to the restaurant last night (Sat 19 Oct) with 2 friends had the worst service ever from one member of the team."
