Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Fantastic food and a great atmosphere."
  • "And the food is always delicious hot and tasty."
  • "Very good food and beers."
  • "The food was fresh and good."
  • "Thought I would try the Caledonia and it did not disappoint. Apparently the menu is new and it was absolutely delicious, the ingredients were fresh, presentation was lovely and I struggled to choose between the options."
  • "The food was surprisingly good, not massive portions but full of flavour."
  • "It tasted fresh, filling, and really well put together."

Cons:

  • "This was honestly the saddest breakfast I've ever had, cold food that looked disappointed to be on a plate let alone any good, even the coffee wasn't hot - would not visit here again."
  • "Ordered full breakfasts and coffees. Both drinks had to be sent back not even warm. Breakfasts cold and left half of them."
  • "Prosecco was flat but I felt bad to complain given I had to return my 'meal' as it was covered in oil, which I specifically asked to not be added."
  • "Flatbread was alright but lots of 'edge' with no topping."
  • "Shockingly bad and eye-wateringly expensive - inedible 'flatbread', a microscopic portion of cold, soggy wedges."
  • "The 'full Scottish breakfast' at the Caledonian Bar, had no beans and no black pudding, so not a full Scottish breakfast."
  • "Got sick after eating a bacon roll here."

Service

Pros:

  • "Special mention to our wonderful server Lewis."
  • "Bernadette and Sarah are a credit to your organisation."
  • "Sarah, was great !!! Great customer service and hospitality. Great at anticipating customers needs and requirements."
  • "Sarah was amazing! Her service was fab and even talked me into staying for something to eat."
  • "Came for a few quick drinks before my flight. Manika F took my order and was very friendly, attentive, and efficient."
  • "Wiktoria was an awesome and personable host! I work for a major retailer who has exceptional standards for customer service and I can say she’d match and exceed our bar for exceptional service!"
  • "Sarah Stewart was the nicest server we’ve ever had. She was efficient, attentive and outstandingly caring."

Cons:

  • "We were told to wait to be seated by a young gentleman while he found us a table. The response I got was, and I quote, 'don't tell me what to do. I decide where you sit.'"
  • "Ordered drinks on website via QR code on table. No sign of any service for 15 mins."
  • "We wanted to order coffee and were ignored for the first 15 minutes."
  • "Terrible service. Rude staff."
  • "Slow service. The Indian manager seemed to spend more time on his phone then supervising/keeping an eye on his staff."
  • "Staff barely awake, manager sat eating his breakfast in front of 20 tables covered in dirty plates and glasses."
  • "Staff are great, but why have the 'wait to be seated' if not to be used."

Price

Pros:

  • "Drinks are affordable for the setting."
  • "Not for stupid airport prices, either!"
  • "It is 'airport expensive' but not too bad."

Cons:

  • "Good bar - outrageously expensive. Airports - gratuitous ripofferry."
  • "However, the prices you charge are ridiculously high, for example £7.25 for a roll and square sausage is nonsense."
  • "5 stars for the service 1 star for the cost. £10+ for a glass of wine!"
  • "Shockingly bad and eye-wateringly expensive - inedible 'flatbread', a microscopic portion of cold, soggy wedges (pictured), a glass of wine and a glass of cider - a pound shy of £30. Ripoff city."
  • "Couldn't believe what I was seeing when I looked at the menu. I get it's an airport and a captive audience but over £7 for a roll and sliced sausage is taking the absolute mick!"
  • "Shockingly bad and eye-wateringly expensive."
  • "£3.25 for what was supposed to be a pot of tea - instead it was a pot of (fairly) hot water and a teabag in a cup."

Cleanliness

Pros:

  • "Just visited for breakfast and was met by Laura Martin the manager who made us feel very welcome all the staff are so friendly the place is very clean and the food amazing 😉."
  • "Delightful restaurant with enjoyable views!"

Cons:

  • "Seats are disgusting, filthy and torn."
  • "The place is filthy! The Seats have never been wiped! The tables are sticky with alien marks that have not been polished in a while."
  • "Add in filthy tables and a young staff that are out of their depth and scarcely managed and you get a total mess."
  • "Dirty. I had tea and the cup was cracked and dirty, the milk jug and teapot crusted with old tea and milk stains."
  • "The furniture specially the chairs needs to be change, are dirty."
  • "Seats are disgusting, filthy and torn."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "Great wine, lovely atmosphere, would come back again."
  • "A very relaxing sit amidst the hustle and bustle of travelling."
  • "Every bar/restaurant in an airport needs a Sarah. The Caledonia bar is the only eatery in Glasgow airport that offers a view of the outside so it was an easy choice."
  • "Nice location within Glasgow Airport to sit and eat whilst watching the planes."
  • "Nice cosy lounging area with a great view of the runway, worth second guessing the upperdeck lounge."
  • "The relaxed cheerful hospitality at this place makes an early airport run a much improved experience."
  • "Great atmosphere, good soundtrack, delicious food."

Cons:

  • "Passing through an airport can be a soulless experience."
  • "Busy airport facility so no real expectations re atmosphere but got a table quickly. Not much space between tables."
