  • "Pretty good venue. Seats are comfy and not too packed and tight."
  • "The seats in the circle were great, really good view and comfortable, we didn't feel squashed in at all."
  • "comfortable seats which are very comfortable"
  • "The seating was comfortable and well positioned."
  • "Seats are very comfortable with good views of the stage."
  • "A beautiful venue. Extremely comfortable seats in both width and for leg room (speaking as both a tall and larger lady!)"

Cons:

  • "Revamp ok although not sure why it was done after only being reworked a few years back. Staff helpful but biggest gripe is seats narrow and close together invariably meaning you are resting against strangers."
  • "Although performance was good have to say the new seating is too cramped personally for myself."
  • "seats are uncomfortable, and squashed together and didn't have enough leg room."
  • "Brilliant show, the theater looks lovely now it's been renovated, but the rows of seats are far too close to the rows in front."
  • "Very tight and hot up there no center aisle, escape in a fire would be very slow, can't believe it passed regs."
  • "Slightly restricted viewing in the back of stalls as the person in front of me was very tall so I would not book the back rows of the stalls again."
  • "Looks fantastic since the refurbishment but the seating rows are way to close to each other, making getting in and out very difficult."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Staff helpful but biggest gripe is seats narrow and close together invariably meaning you are resting against strangers."
  • "All members of staff were so welcoming and very attentive to the needs of customers."
  • "The staff were all super helpful and very friendly, a member of staff was available to help with anything we needed."
  • "The staff were incredible. They gave us other options to see the show and looked after him and his mum so well."
  • "Staff very friendly and helpful, comfortable seats and beautiful decor and finishing touches"
  • "The staff are all utterly wonderful and so welcoming."
  • "Staff all most helpful and friendly."

Cons:

  • "To be told to stop filming and by an old matron/like attendaent is nothing short of infuriating, disgraceful and downright rude."
  • "The young lady server was very rude and abrupt to myself and others and couldn't have been more disconnected and disinterested in her job role."
  • "Extremely rude bar staff!"
  • "Really not impressed with the booking system. Was booking tickets when I noticed a £5 donation had been added!"
  • "Despite not picking up on the mood of the crowd in wanting some decent music at a volume that could be heard and sung or clapped along to during a delayed start to the ABBA performance."
  • "Only real drawback is escaping from local council car parks, only two payment machines and probably 200 cars trying to leave."
  • "Got off to bad start by having unisex toilet, everyone in queue was disgusted."

Facilities and Amenities

Pros:

  • "The HfC has a lovely auditorium now."
  • "what an amazing performance and the venue does not disappoint with a cafe and a bar and plenty of toilets"
  • "Small almost intimate theatre. Extreme raking of the seats means a good view from most seats."
  • "Great venue with good acoustics and comfortable seats. Well-designed interior using a lot of natural wood, so it has quite a Cornish coastal feel."
  • "Easy disabled access and great variety of performances."
  • "The renovation to the theatre and the building as a whole is wonderful. The design is modern and contemporary but still in keeping with the heritage of the building."
  • "The architectural elements and the use of natural materials such as granite and wood are outstanding."

Cons:

  • "The only minus is paper cups for coffee which rather spoils the experience."
  • "The toilet facilities are a lot to be desired, on one level there is just one cubicle and one urinal in a very very small mens toilet and do not get me started in the unisex one on the ground floor."
  • "The only down side is the amount people drink, and the almighty rush to get to the bar during the break, and this was at the ballet."
  • "The new build is an interesting mix of styles; comfortable, but not entirely eliminating the 'restricted view' seating."
  • "The toilet arrangement was terrible...one door into men and women's toilets with everybody queueing at the halfway interval and people trying to get in and out at the same time."
  • "toilets for men on balcony level totally inadequate"
  • "Not impressed on 3 toilets plus only one disabled toilet near the cafe."

Performance and Entertainment

Pros:

  • "Performances were outstanding though."
  • "Wonderful theatre offering a varied selection of West End shows, at fairly reasonable prices."
  • "White Christmas. From the drink on the way in, to the ushers ensuring everyone was able to leave easily, not forgetting the superb show, everything was spot on."
  • "The auditorium is second to none, marvellous sound and completely uninterrupted views of the stage wherever you sit. Bar and cafe too."
  • "The performance was slick, colourful and funny and we were amazed at how the cast remembered all their words and dance moves."
  • "We saw Rumours of Fleetwood Mac and they were amazing! The sound and lighting were perfect, and the band were just brilliant."
  • "The production was stunning. A wonderful entertaining show."

Cons:

  • "Lovely modern venue, great size, but the noise during the performance spoilt my enjoyment"
  • "The vocals were off key, out of tune and often shouted."
  • "Very poor and was bored towards the end..Treasure Island..too much singing and too many modern songs that don't fit the title of the show"
  • "However, was a bit disappointed with the performance of the ballet."
  • "For a man who has done so much in his time we were expecting great things however he seemed to lack enthusiasm and continuity as he rambled along, sadly what could, and really should, have been an interesting and inspirational evening fell to the point where I actually found myself nodding off more than once."
  • "Could only make out parts of the dialogue as the sound was so appalling."
  • "Very poor and was bored towards the end..Treasure Island..too much singing and too many modern songs that don't fit the title of the show"

  • "Wonderful theatre offering a varied selection of West End shows, at fairly reasonable prices."
  • "The seats directly in front of us empty so excellent view."

Cons:

  • "The whole experience is over-priced and a night out at HFC would be among the last places I'd want to take the family."
  • "Drinks very expensive."
  • "The only thing that would have made this better is not having to take out a mortgage for a round of drinks."
  • "this is cornwall so £130 for two tickets is crazy for everyday people."
  • "Be warned that the bar prices were offensively excessive."
  • "Prices have increased substantially."
  • "What a waste of £80.sat through half of Illegal Eagles concert with sound to upper balcony switched off."
