Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food is amazing, unique and very tasty (big compliments to the chefs)."
  • "Every dish was tasty, creative and incredibly well matched with the wine pairing."
  • "Absolutely amazing- every dish was itself, but lifted. The carrot course blew my mind, and I wanted to eat the beans three times over."
  • "All dishes were unique in appearance, texture and flavour, it was a delightful taste tour of their offering."

Cons:

  • "I didn't like some of the dishes as the flavours were sharp."
  • "I found the whole experience something I would do again and again. Carefully thought out plates and the wine was delicious. Well done chaps."
  • "Chocolate dishes lack depth when made vegan and unfortunately, this was the same here."
  • "The seaweed bread and sesame butter was incredible and the dessert."

Service Quality

Pros:

  • "Staff knowledgeable and friendly even if they did speak quietly so I had to strain to hear what they said."
  • "The service was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious in every one of the 8 courses."
  • "The service was really excellent and I left feeling satisfied and thoroughly happy."
  • "The single best meal of my entire life and it's not even close. A sincere thank you to all the incredibly talented chefs and exceptional wait staff."

Cons:

  • "The service was very poor, to be honest when I went there was no service at all and when you factor in the price of the food it's a little disappointing."
  • "Didn’t make it as far as making it to the restaurant. Me and my wife wanted to have an anniversary lunch but knew we would have an 8 week old baby who she would be breastfeeding so they would need to come with us. Called to check if there would be space for a pram, only to be told that they don’t allow children in the restaurant on Saturdays."
  • "Visited Land for a special dinner. Only to witness one of the chefs stir a dish, then lick the spoon (whole spoon in the mouth) then carry on using the same spoon to stir and plate the food for guests."
  • "Food is a very high standard, tried some things I wouldn’t usually try, the wait in between courses was almost 30 mins each time though, we were there for hours."

Ambiance and Decor

Pros:

  • "The restaurant is pleasantly decorated. The service is very polite, attentive and friendly despite the formality."
  • "Beautiful food - some of this dishes were spectacular, all were interesting. Service was lovely and friendly as well."
  • "Wonderful and innovative veggie restaurant in the heart of Birmingham with compact and thoughtful wine list. Verging on fine dining but very relaxed and friendly."
  • "The decor is really nice and sets a nice atmosphere."

Cons:

  • "But the lighting is really harsh and bright and takes away from the pleasure of dining. It’s certainly doesn’t lend itself to a romantic dinner."
  • "The only thing I wasn’t a fan of is the fact the restaurant is tiny and you can’t avoid being near other tables."
  • "It’s a quiet, calm and plainly decorated restaurant, allowing the food to do the talking."
  • "It is 18:20 Tuesday and it is closed in reality while it is open according to its hours on google."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Food is incredible, very reasonably priced for the quality."
  • "We had the 8 course tasting menu at around £45 and my friend also has the wine flight for £45. Reasonable prices compared to some tasting menus."
  • "Extraordinary value for money too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return!"
  • "One of the very best tasting menus I’ve ever tasted – and that includes a number of Michelin-starred restaurants. And I’m not even vegan/vegetarian. Original creations, great balance of flavours and textures. Good price too - very impressive value for money."

Cons:

  • "Cocktails a bit on the expensive side."
  • "My partner booked us 8 course tasting menu but with the pandemic we couldn't make it they understood this and gave us a voucher for next time. When we booked again the menu did change so we had to pay £20 on top of the voucher that would have covered the cost of the previous menu."
  • "Because of the eat out to help out we had a £20 discount. But I have to be honest I felt it would have been pricey to have had the full bill which would have been over £50."
  • "Tried to book a table for 6 weeks my n friend gone in trying to book had nothing but issues never had to pay a meal upfront a deposit yes but went in tried to book n pay had nothing but issues been coming here for years but in truth don't think I would want to come again as so hard to book."
