Ambiance and Decor

Pros:

  • "The decor is probably more dazzling than its Soho counterpart."
  • "The ambience of the restaurant, even as you just step in, radiates quality and great taste in design."
  • "The restaurant reminds me of the Orient Express with its sleek interior."
  • "The inside is done out like an upmarket Russian Train carriage, outstanding first rate service."
  • "Beautiful decor and interior design with great atmosphere."
  • "The decor is the thing you notice first, it's a very unique place."

Cons:

  • "Only issue is the exposed ceilings. Doesn't mesh with sophisticated art deco and lets the side down somewhat."
  • "The restaurant was situated at a very modern complex where an elevator takes you straight to the restaurant, though it does allow people to get lost quite easily due to the reflective walls and maze-like design."

Food Quality and Variety

Pros:

  • "The food and service was quite good, especially the starters and the steak hache royal."
  • "The stinking bishop souffle was amazing. Others had chicken Kyiv which looked lovely.. The French onion soup was incredible."
  • "Loved this experience from start to finish... Every mouthful was an absolute dream."
  • "Definitely try the salmon tartare, truffle, potato & mushroom vareniki, beef wellington and vodka shots at -18."
  • "We got the stake tartar imperal, which was grand, the Mushrooms Vareniki, which was just okay, for starters. For our main, we got the Beef Wellington with truffle mashed potatoes, and oh my God, it was amazing!"
  • "The beef wellington was delicious! Very easy to get a dud and these guys did it to perfection."

Cons:

  • "The food was nothing exceptional, definitely not blown away by the portion sizes or the taste."
  • "The dishes we ordered were just okay, nothing fancy for the price."
  • "The lobster was extremely bland and tasteless! The steak I had was a what can only be described as a ball of fat with an egg on top."
  • "For dessert, we got the BBR Signature Chocolate Glory, which was also great but dessert was a let down, don't bother with it."
  • "The food was incredibly rich in garlic and butter. It wasn’t bad food but it wasn’t great either; I would give it 3 star but the food poisoning has made me give it 2 star."
  • "The food was OK not wowed by any of it. Bread £2 per person and all you get was 4 mini slices of baguettes."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "The staff were very polite and friendly, who were happy to chat to us about drinks and gave food suggestions."
  • "The service was top-notch, never felt rushed, never felt ignored."
  • "From the receptionist to the waiters the service was professional, attentive and well placed."
  • "We felt like we were on the Orient Express and the service was impeccable."
  • "The service there is 10/10 and the staff really work hard."
  • "But the biggest shout out has to go out to the charismatic, Hilarious sweetheart that was the security guy."

Cons:

  • "All the foods were slightly below our expectations, and the waiter who served our table were honestly quite rude."
  • "The service was a bit of a hit and miss, we waited 30mins for food and had to wait around flagging someone to take our order."
  • "Too many scruffy trainers and scrappy t-shirts."
  • "It did take some time to get the bill."
  • "The waiter cleared our plates when others on the table were still eating. They rushed us to order dessert and rolled their eyes when I we ordered a dessert to share."
  • "The waiter was rude, barely spoke to us and just tried to rush every decision."

Pricing and Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The overall price is on the costlier side but it's a great option for that special occasion."
  • "The food (excellent quality) was very reasonable, obviously drinks add up but what a wonderful experience."
  • "As others have mentioned, the service is very slow. The food is good but for the price was not amazing."
  • "The price is the price…..you get what you pay for and you won’t be let down by the food let me tell you that much."

Cons:

  • "It’s expensive but great for special occasions."
  • "I shudder at the hidden costs. 'Would you like some water and bread?' 'Yes please that would be lovely' Come the bill that cost £22."
  • "The only thing I didn’t like was that when we ordered bread for the table they charged me for 3 portions, whereas we didn’t ask for 3 portions."
  • "We did spend £300 between the two of us ( a big treat for us!) But you absolutely don't need to."
  • "For £180 for 2 people, it felt very disappointing."
  • "For a fixed 15% of service charge, which amounted to £40, I expected better service."
