Theatre Experience
Pros:
"The theatre is quite small compared to others. We sat in the stalls, middle of row M, the view was incredible."
"Managed to get a box, it warned that views would be restricted due to the side on view. Personally the limited view was outweighed by the fact that I did not have limited leg room."
"Although the theatre is old, 19th century I believe, it is possible for wheelchair users."
"Great staff, especially the guy selling tickets at the box office this evening 19th March c. 18.00 letting my wife look for her lost train ticket."
"The staff at Lyric Theatre are the nicest and the most professional."
"Beautifully refurbished and everything you would expect from reputable theatre."
"The addition of a cloakroom for the small fee of £1 was great for us carrying our luggage."
Cons:
"A few of the staff were quite obnoxious."
"The theatre itself was a little drab and in need of some renovation."
"Only 1 x 25ml single shot! I did not appreciate the bar policy."
"The restricted view seat was actually no view due to an iron post."
"Its an old theatre that may be a bit tricky to handle if you have a disability."
"Staff wow enjoying themselves generally more than attending to paying customers I had to endure a female staff chatting very loudly to her colleague."
"Instead, I was greeted by a miserable and rude staff member that did not want to help or even try to show any empathy."
Show Quality
Pros:
"Excellent evening. Came here for a birthday celebration and to watch the Bob Marley musical Get up Stand up, and can say don’t miss out on seeing this uplifting and emotional if you get the chance."
"Get Up, Stand Up, Bob Marley Musical playing all the head bobbing, toe tapping familiar collection. Love, loved it."
"The Bod Marley Show was absolutely AMAZING.....the history, the singing 'RITA', the dancing, the vibe was unmatchable..better than any other theater show I've attended."
"The show was an amazing, high quality and well thought out collection performances."
"I went to see Bob Marley play and it was completely stupendous, really recommended it!"
"The show was very good too, saw Get up stand up about Bob Marley."
"Went to see, Get up- Stand up the Bob Marley play. The play was brilliant! It’s a must see for sure and the staff were incredibly friendly."
Cons:
"Numerous members of the audience seemed to have had imbibed copious amounts of alcohol."
"The theater itself is old needs to be refurbished seating tight no leg room no cup or refreshment holder within the chairs."
"The theatre was also very hot and uncomfortable."
"Unpleasant experience (despite a great play - Bob Marley musical) The seating was very cramped and did not have sufficient leg room."
"went to see this on Thursday 29th.. although the show was good. the heat in the theatre was unbearable."
"Slightly disappointing to be informed at 12.30 that a 14.30 show was cancelled especially when money was spent to make sure we would be there on time."
"As with all shows, it's a shame that tickets are so expensive. Nearly £200 for two tickets."
Accessibility and Comfort
Pros:
"Great customer service, easy to book tickets even for a relative with a disability."
"We were three rows from the front and never had a better view for anything."
"They saw us in through a separate door to stow away our buggy and there was always someone showing you where to go."
"It was very easy to get in and out and the queuing system was well organised."
"One of London's compact theatres, the Lyric was bouncing to the Get Up, Stand Up lyrics of the Bob Marley musical when I visited."
"A smart theatre, friendly staff, lovely gift shop."
"A lovely old theatre with many original features still in place."
Cons:
"No mobility access and I was left outside in the freezing cold with 2 very upset toddlers whilst waiting to collect our items from the cloak room."
"The ushers are a shambles. Rude, condescending, and abrasive."
"Got panicked by entrances that led to nowhere/locked doors."
