Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The unlimited pancakes were just out of the world and amazing in taste."
  • "Food was 10/10, also came so fast it came before our drinks."
  • "Great tasty food, good service and relaxed atmosphere."
  • "The food itself is also extremely good."
  • "Delicious food with healthy choices."
  • "Chicken & sesame dumplings - great, comes with interesting thick brown sauce."
  • "The half roast chicken was succulent and full of flavour."

Cons:

  • "The quality of the food is nowhere near as good as it used to be and with fish pie priced at £12.95 with no vegetables or sides whatsoever you would expect it to be delicious and it wasn’t."
  • "The 'pancetta-wrapped turkey' main... so overcooked that they were inedible."
  • "Chicken just tasted like frying oil and the Asian slaw was 🤮."
  • "It is overpriced. You can get better breakfast/brunch elsewhere at cheaper price."
  • "Unfortunately my meal let down the whole experience! I ordered the fish pie and it was flavourless."
  • "I ordered a stack of pancakes, and I found them pretty dry, didn't have enough syrup and found it hard to finish."
  • "The place looks nice, but food is poor quality. Mac& cheese not edible the cheese sauce tasted rotten we sent it back."

Service

Pros:

  • "Great atmosphere, very friendly and accommodating staff ❤️"
  • "Staff very helpful and friendly & and definitely add to a good night out."
  • "The staff were excellent also, even when we had a problem with a desert, they dealt with it very professionally."
  • "Chloe was really attentive and lovely."
  • "Quiet and not crowded mid week dinner at Bill's, courteous staff and very efficient service."
  • "The server was very friendly and had good recommendations."
  • "Staff were very helpful about 'tweaking' the menu."

Cons:

  • "When I got the bill I noticed that the 'optional service charge' was automatically added on."
  • "I really don't like forced service charges, it's a very cheeky way of making the food look like a decent price but taking more after the meal."
  • "The waitress we had struggled to understand and we had to repeat ourselves a couple of times."
  • "Our only problem was when it came to pay the bill. We had a valid Blue Light discount which they were not keen on honouring."
  • "It was very busy and the service was very slow we had to wait for some time to get someone to take the order and then some time to get the bill, which was boring."
  • "The service is lacklustre, I feel particularly offended when I asked for sugar for my tea and the waitress replied of course but she passed it to the gentlemen beside me."
  • "Service isn't great either. We waited ages for coffee."

Atmosphere & Decor

Pros:

  • "Very colourful and elegant interior. Perfect for those who love taking photos."
  • "Great place at the center of Notingham."

  • "I love the restaurants decor and ambience."
  • "One of my favourite places to eat in Nottingham."

  • "This place is amazing!!! Atmosphere is nice and cosy with nice staff!!"

Cons:

  • "None of the more affordable wines from the menu were available."
  • "Don't bother trying to book a table. You can't do it over the phone."
  • "The only thing I don't agree with is that they add a service charge onto the bill automatically it's very Americanised and not necessary."
  • "you are only there for the atmosphere."
  • "The place is very hectic and overwhelming honestly but that might be what you want."
  • "Place lacks a bit of character but this is probably because it's a chain."
  • "Looks like style over substance to me."

Pricing & Value

Pros:

  • "Three course set for £18 (before 12.5% svc)."
  • "Bill's be kitchen is open until 11 pm. Love this place."
  • "Reasonably priced."
  • "Not too expensive too!"
  • "They also offer 20 percent student discount."
  • "Super prices too, we had the three course set price, excellent."
  • "Why 4 stars, because of 1 thing, the food was excellent. You do get big portions for the price you pay, well worth it."

Cons:

  • "Including prosecco about £50. Very disappointing."
  • "The only down side for me, they put a 12.5% service charge on the bill which I think is a little too much."
  • "Nice food friendly and helpful staff but found it a bit expensive for what you get especially with the add ons and very busy and we was in the corner crammed with tables it seemed that they couldn't get enough tables in."
  • "So 4 mains 6 drinks £111 maybe cheaper to go Paris after all."
  • "I choose to have the bottomless brunch and a Margarita. After having what I got was not worth £46:00."
  • "The portions seemed a bit on the small side for the price, but what we had was tasty. The drinks seemed rather pricey, though - £5.25 for a small beer and £8.50 for a medium-sized glass of wine."
  • "For the value of money I would probably look for other options next time."
