Admission Pricing

Pros:

  • "£18.95 for a adult ticket, under 5s free and that ticket allows you to re-visit for up to 12 months for free again."
  • "Really great place for a day our trip. The ticket price was really reasonable and if you book online you get to go back again for free."
  • "Recommend buying advance ticket (it's a pound cheaper and you are automatically upgraded to free admittance for a year)."

Cons:

  • "The entry fee of £18.95 for adults and £16.95 for children felt a bit steep."
  • "The entrance price, though, is quite high (in my opinion), but you can revisit during the year."
  • "Tickets purchased online are automatically upgraded to an annual pass which is great! However, after 1st use, when returning and require access to the planetarium you'll have to pay a small additional fee."
  • "Booking online is essential, and if you do you get a free annual pass. However, the tickets are very expensive for this type of attraction (adult £17.95 and child £15.95!!)."

Interactive Elements & Educational Value

Pros:

  • "Children of all ages I could see were captivated by this place which has got to be a good thing, broadening their imagination, plenty of interactive stuff to mess around with."
  • "There's so much to read about and a lot of interactive bits for the kids (and also for us as two 30 year olds!)."
  • "A great place for learning so much about space travel, missions, equipment and so much more! Highly recommend visiting to anyone who is interested in space."
  • "It is a very good experience for me and my daughter, the games there are not very easy, but with parents' help can be finished usually!"

Cons:

  • "The exhibitions leaned heavily on reading, which didn’t engage my child effectively."
  • "Very interesting but tiring. Children were noisy and some were too young to appreciate it."
  • "Really enjoyed it taken my nephew but I was more interested in it all but it's one of them places I feel like once you've been that's kind of it."

Facilities & Staff

Pros:

  • "Well done to all the helpful and well-informed staff you're doing a great job."
  • "The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to find, cafe on site for a quick cuppa and snack."
  • "Our grandkids had a wonderful time dashing around here looking and touching at everything they could. Had a drink from the cafe. We did notice the prices in the cafe for food were actually pretty good."

Cons:

  • "Rude parking attendant. Not sure if him or she, as didn't look as either. Ended up following me and my friend like a weirdo. Threatening me that I will be banned from entering for telling it to 'jog on' when I didn't want to be followed."

Planetarium & Shows

Pros:

  • "Highly recommend visiting the Planetarium. This was the cherry on the top of the cake for us, as we left it for the end of our visit. It was totally worth it."
  • "The Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will definitely be back for another visit!"
  • "My expectations for this were pretty low, however, it ended up being really very interesting and a wonderful insight into the rigorous measures astronauts have to go through."

Cons:

  • "The planetarium was good but couldn't hear the commentary properly because of the resonance."
  • "We watched the Astronaut show, which was good but felt a bit dated."
