Park Facilities

Pros:

  • "Good open space to play, excellent that there are dedicated dog walking areas which limits the amount of dog poo you encounter to almost none!"
  • "The cafe does all usual coffee and sandwiches. They also take card payments so no cash required."
  • "There's also a miniature railway that is open on selected days."
  • "Good facilities with a shop, café and toilets."
  • "Great local amenity, has a new play area for the kids lots of open space."
  • "The Basingstoke Canal runs through the park so there is a really pleasant walk along the tow paths."

Cons:

  • "The play park isn't great as the zip line keeps breaking and there isn't a lot of equipment for the crowds it draws."
  • "The only slight problem was the amount of available parking."
  • "Only 1 ball & 1 tee each so no allowance for novice players."
  • "It can be overcrowded sometimes which can put you off."
  • "The mini railway has never been open when we've been there."
  • "Only criticism is the toilets are situated at the cafe area and nowhere near the trains where most parents have to queue with the kids to board."
  • "THE FENCING AROUND THE MAIN RAILWAY IS NOT SECURE. BOTH MY DOGS NEARLY DIED, GETTING ONTO THE TRACK CHASING RABBITS."

  • "The cafe serves sandwiches, toasties, sausage rolls etc and cakes, biscuits & ice cream."
  • "Small and cosy cafe, serving hot or cold food, breakfasts all day."
