Location & Setting

Pros:

  • "One of our favourite camp sites to take our campervan. Nestled in the trees, the site is quiet and beautiful."
  • "Lovely campsite in the forest with a nice forest path down to the village and loads of walking routes nearby."
  • "The sounds of nature are a joy with birds and the stream running by."
  • "Lovely campsite in a beautiful location."
  • "Just love the situation in the middle of the forest...all you can hear is the sound of birds."
  • "Stunning location backing onto Moel Hebog, Moel Lefn and Moel yr Ogof."
  • "This is a fantastic base for Snowdon, beddgelert etc and the area is breathtakingly beautiful with lots to do."

Cons:

  • "We found it quite difficult to find as not many sign posts."
  • "It is very dark, there are a lot of trees."
  • "Not really any nice views from the pitches as the trees block the view."
  • "The campsite is very muddy and especially on rainy days it becomes very difficult to even just reach the toilets without getting your shoes and feet completely wet and dirty."
  • "Rained a lot and the pitches were boggy as under the trees."
  • "The premium tent area is next to chemical toilet waste, on one side and on the other a road into the forest that's open to public and was used like a main road feet from our tent!"
  • "Very expensive for a patch of grass and only 2 toilet/showers cubicles for about 35 tents."

Facilities & Amenities

Pros:

  • "The facilities block itself is clean and in very good condition with plenty of hot water and showers that are some of the best I've seen at a campsite."
  • "BEST campsite in Snowdonia!! Amazing facilities, shop, food & easy access to Beddgelert forest trails and much more."
  • "Lovely peaceful site, well maintained with good facilities."
  • "The showers are hot and the block is heated."
  • "Facilities were good; shower and toilet cubicles were mostly clean and all in great working order."
  • "The shower area was very clean, with plenty of space to dry and change."
  • "Fantastic toilets and shower units."

Cons:

  • "Could this be the reason why no money is being spent on it? If so, its disgraceful charging what they do for members of the club."
  • "Booked for 3 nights left after 1. Short staffed, forest pitch not big enough, road full of pot holes, no hot water for a shower, toilet and shower in the same pod, dirty, floor absolutely soaked with dirty water from shower and people using the toilet."
  • "Toilets/showers on the caravan pitch were not what we expected as paying the higher end of our budget, no privacy as only big block of showers with only curtains."
  • "There's never any staff around so we couldn't complain, shop always closed, too."
  • "The bad bits: Toilets aren’t very clean. Urinal was dirty, floors not cleaned and one of the taps was broken."
  • "While we were there for 3 out of 5 days there was no hand sanitizer in the toilet block and the cleaning was not great."
  • "The toilet block is awful, tepid showers, half of ladies loos didn't flush unless you nearly broke your arm forcing them."

Cons:

  • "After a german shepard dog on a neighbouring pitch made an unprovoked attack on an adult in our group."

  • "The response was an extremely rude and cold NO off two staff.... Point blank refused to help me out, banging on about policies.... Absolutely no empathy whatsoever."
  • "Disgraceful service and advice"
