Cons:

  • "Staff however are great to deal with. Efficient, polite, friendly."
  • "It was poorly organised with routes badly signed or at all - if they had to evacuate the building it would be chaotic at best!"
  • "It was too busy, the ques for the bar were ridiculous, only for vodka redbull or larger."
  • "It's a beautiful building and staff are usually nice. However, could you add ceiling fans."
  • "Lovely venue but the 'seating' is challenging on the buttocks."
  • "The thing I was probably most impressed by was how good the security were."
  • "Apart from the walk up the stairs, it was a very enjoyable evening."

Sound and Viewing Experience

Pros:

  • "The sound is always amazing."
  • "The sound quality on the floor is really good."
  • "Acoustics were fabulous."
  • "Brilliant sound and great setting."
  • "The acoustics are good and there is bench seating on the balcony all round for a great view of the stage."
  • "The view from the circle was definitely better than the view from the floor, but the sound is great wherever you are."
  • "The acoustics were bad, half the time I could not understand the words spoken and sang."
  • "The acoustics are fantastic."

Cons:

  • "The sound quality on the floor is really good, but it drops a bit in the balcony."
  • "View from the unreserved seats upstairs was super."
  • "The balcony area was dangerously busy."
  • "The 'smoking terrace' is less of a terrace and more if a cage approximately one meter wide."
  • "The balcony where people were trying to move around. Security staff were walking past and ignoring this."
  • "Overall, I will give this venue a miss until significant redevelopment of the venue and their event management."
  • "Very uncomfortable seats, and I wasn’t seated in the VIP/Center area even though I’d paid for it."
  • "One of the best views I've had at any show and had room to dance even though it was a sold out show which was a first for 5"2 me."

Staff and Security

Pros:

  • "The team are lovely and there's a drinks runner so you don't have to go to the bar."
  • "Staff were super friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff were really nice."

  • "The staff made they best they could with the situation but it really isn't a disability friendly venue overall."
  • "The staff were so lovely and all seemed happy to be there."
  • "The staff couldn't be more accommodating. Super friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff couldn't do enough for me. 100% perfect for accessibility."

Cons:

  • "As if this wasn’t enough I was spoken to in a disgusting manner by a member of your security team."
  • "Search processes were onerous and again badly managed with sniffer dogs and heavy handed searching."
  • "Security staff weren’t able to recognise ticket types and direct accordingly."
  • "Security staff were walking past and ignoring this."
  • "Security in the venue were all pretty nice and chatty, although there didn't seem to be many of them!"
  • "The security staff who checked on me on the stairs when standing got too much."
  • "No accountability at all. Stayed over in Manchester for this gig so a total waste of money at an unsafe badly managed venue."
  • "Sound quality was shocking, but it has been whenever I've been to the Albert Hall before so no surprises there."

Accessibility and Comfort

Pros:

  • "It's great that there's an option to sit at every event at the Albert hall."
  • "Both seating and standing room available."
  • "Sitting upstairs gives great views wherever you are."
  • "There's a wooden stepped area where you can sit and get a great view of the stage."
  • "You have more chances of getting closers to the performer due to its small size."
  • "There's loads of room to stand downstairs and upstairs there's a wooden stepped area where you can sit and get a great view of the stage."
  • "There's a lot of stairs, especially if you need to go from the toilet to the top floor."
  • "A fantastic place for concerts the acoustics are great, a great view from all sides."

Cons:

  • "They don't provide seats with back support and the toilet is far away from the viewing area."
  • "Disabled section is at the very top of a lot of stairs and behind the artists, and the access to the toilet is along a narrow walkway."
  • "Saw Swans here most recently, and as always the venue was excellent. Unreserved steps on the balcony that are used as seating."
  • "I don't know whether to blacklist this venue in summer or just all together as it's extremely inhumane, and intolerable."
  • "The 'smoking terrace' is less of a terrace and more if a cage approximately one meter wide."
  • "However, it was unbelievably and uncomfortably hot so they really do need to consider being able to cool the room on a hot day."
  • "But all this pales into insignificance when compared to the cloakroom service."
  • "It's not the venues fault, I'm sure they can't change much due to the age of the building, but it's better for people to know."
