Castle and Grounds

Pros:

• "What a fantastic castle and place to visit with the family (and dog!). The castle is immaculate on the outside with lovely manicured lawns and gardens."

• "The Castle is beautiful but unfortunately it is not wheel chair friendly."
• "If you are selling maps for a circular walk then you need to address the mud issues with a bridge or stepping stones."
• "Some of them lead you along paths which have not been maintained, very overgrown."
• "The paths up to the Castle are made of lose stones, and to enter the Castle you have to go down steps."
• "Once in the Castle there is a winding metal staircase to get to the next floor, also not disabled friendly."
• "It's sad that the inside of the castle was destroyed by fire and there are now only two floors."
• "Nice looking building but a fire in 1930 gutted it. It has been made safe and there are some displays about how it used to look but don't expect the stately home experience."

• "They have a very interesting game for the kids to play while going around the castle."
• "Really enjoyed our trip, came with our 2 daughters aged 3 and 6. They loved searching for the bat's and squirrels."
• "We were delighted that the children's play area in the woodland was open and not at all busy during our visit."

• "There was also a lovely new playground, peacocks and a cafe and a maze cut into the grass."

Cons:

• "We arrived during the Spooky Fun event, and were told we had to attend the event, and could not enter with our English Heritage card."
• "Not impressed with this place. Was looking for somewhere to eat and Lulworth castle advertise that they have a cafe, upon arrival we paid £3 car park then made our way to the castle which is a little walk on a stone path which isn't good for a push chair."
