  • "Absolutely beautiful beach and clear blue water. Does feel like your abroad. Just gets extremely busy and rowdy in the town."
  • "What is a beautiful village suffers from being overpriced, too many people, clearly COVID isn't happening in St Ives! Extremely busy and crowded."

Transport and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Parking is a nightmare but park up the top by the leisure centre walk down and get the bus back up!"
  • "Very steep hills to walk and drive on, very narrow roads."

Local Amenities and Shops

Pros:

  • "An unique location, sandy beaches, fishing boats and a wonderful port all surrounded by fantastic pubs, cafe's and independent shops."
  • "Always love St. Ives, such a beautiful place with excellent shopping!"
  • "A lovely harbour. Surrounded by little bars and cafes. Plenty of places to sit at the side and watch the goings on."

Cons:

  • "Very quaint. Felt like Padstow at times. Extremely busy. Difficult to look around some of the shops at times."
  • "Gift shops were quite expensive."
  • "It should be pedestrianised with access only to loading vehicles in the town centre."
  • "I found St Ives very touristy and despite the time of year, very busy. There are lots of interesting little shops but trying to thread my way between people made it less enjoyable."

Wildlife and Seagulls

Pros:

  • "Fantastic day. Tide was out when we got there walked across the harbour and had a paddle. Then walked around till tide came in and had a brilliant boat trip seeing seals and dolphins."
  • "Loooovvveeee St Ives Harbour. It's October but guess what? All the kids went swimming while the tide was out. Walk down to the St Ives Museum and climb out onto the rocks... There are seals 🦭!!!"

Cons:

  • "Seagulls are still a big issue and you need to take care with children as they will attack, we saw several people today get hit by them."
  • "BEWARE the seagulls they have a tendency to drop on your head if you are eating, so you drop your food!"
  • "Must visit if you’re in the area but beware of the seagulls! They wait until you’re not looking and dive in for the kill."
  • "Now... Guard your life and keep your eyes open and alert as you will be mugged from every angle by the crafty flappy muggers."
