Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Nice food, can be pretty costly but to be honest the food tastes nice and you can see most of it being cooked in front of you which is always a nice thing."
  • "This is way better than your usual café grub: we had the spinach pancakes with a side of harissa sweet potato fries, and they were well-presented and delicious."
  • "Visited here for breakfast as it was close to our hotel, it was well worth it. Scrambled eggs were nicely cooked using good quality eggs served with a quality smoked salmon."
  • "Really great quality food, well cooked, nicely presented and typical London prices."
  • "Loved the food, I had a burger which wonderfully didn't taste like your average cafe burger - some good flavours and combinations had been used."
  • "Everything tasted amazing, great ingredients."
  • "The food was very good."

Cons:

  • "Also not enough items on the kids menu. very disappointing and it ruins Battersea Park."
  • "Ordered beer sausage roll which was burnt completely."
  • "The pastries: croissant and pain au chocolat are not fresh and quite rubbery... massive let down."
  • "The pastries and scrambled eggs are nice however the rest of the food is terrible."
  • "The pizzas were tepid and looked awful."
  • "The food wasn't the best and they didn't have a lot of options."
  • "What i got is greasy coat pretended being fish inside! It was the worse 'food' I ever experienced!"

  • "Staff really friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff kept everywhere cleared and clean and the food came quickly."
  • "Lovely atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff."
  • "We found the staff struck the right balance between being friendly and knowledgable, but without being too 'in your face'."
  • "The staff were very nice and greeted you with a smile."
  • "There is always a friendly face, whether I’m at the desk placing my order, collecting my coffee or receiving food at my table."

Cons:

  • "Music at 90dB (RIP ears)."
  • "We waited over twenty minutes to receive cold coffees that went straight to the bin."
  • "Terrible service, after waiting for over 25min to order, we have been waiting over 45min to get simple burger."
  • "Awful service."
  • "expensive and bad service. the price may not have been an issue if service was better."

Environment

Pros:

  • "Pear Tree Cafe is located in such a scenic location next to a lake in Battersea Park, making it the perfect stopover location to warm up and enjoy some hot drinks after a walk in the park."
  • "Cafe is next to a small lake with both indoor and outdoor seatings."
  • "I absolutely love this place, a gem in Battersea park. Great coffee and food, always really busy with people enjoying the park, and happily they accept dogs which makes it a friendly place to pop in on the weekly dog walk."
  • "Much more than just a convenience inside Battersea Park, the Pear Tree Café has enough charms and qualities to deserve an excursion on its own, especially being so close to Queenstown Rd."
  • "Nice being beside the pond."
  • "Great setting by the lake and you can easily forget your in the middle of London."

Cons:

  • "The bins are overflowing, rubbish everywhere, no recycling, everything served in disposable packaging and wrapped in plastic."
  • "What a shame. Nice setting but destroyed by garbage everywhere."
  • "Tables covered in bird excrement, which is clearly never cleaned."
  • "The place is dirty the atmosphere terrible."
