Theatre Experience

Pros:

  • "The theatre is quite small compared to others. We sat in the stalls, middle of row M, the view was incredible."
  • "Managed to get a box, it warned that views would be restricted due to the side on view. Personally the limited view was outweighed by the fact that I did not have limited leg room."
  • "Although the theatre is old, 19th century I believe, it is possible for wheelchair users."
  • "Great staff, especially the guy selling tickets at the box office this evening 19th March c. 18.00 letting my wife look for her lost train ticket."
  • "The staff at Lyric Theatre are the nicest and the most professional."
  • "Beautifully refurbished and everything you would expect from reputable theatre."
  • "The addition of a cloakroom for the small fee of £1 was great for us carrying our luggage."

Cons:

  • "A few of the staff were quite obnoxious."
  • "The theatre itself was a little drab and in need of some renovation."
  • "Only 1 x 25ml single shot! I did not appreciate the bar policy."
  • "The restricted view seat was actually no view due to an iron post."
  • "Its an old theatre that may be a bit tricky to handle if you have a disability."
  • "Staff wow enjoying themselves generally more than attending to paying customers I had to endure a female staff chatting very loudly to her colleague."
  • "Instead, I was greeted by a miserable and rude staff member that did not want to help or even try to show any empathy."

  • "Excellent evening. Came here for a birthday celebration and to watch the Bob Marley musical Get up Stand up, and can say don’t miss out on seeing this uplifting and emotional if you get the chance."

  • "The theatre was also very hot and uncomfortable."
  • "Unpleasant experience (despite a great play - Bob Marley musical) The seating was very cramped and did not have sufficient leg room."
  • "went to see this on Thursday 29th.. although the show was good. the heat in the theatre was unbearable."
  • "Slightly disappointing to be informed at 12.30 that a 14.30 show was cancelled especially when money was spent to make sure we would be there on time."
  • "As with all shows, it's a shame that tickets are so expensive. Nearly £200 for two tickets."
