Cost and Pricing

Pros:

  • "not only was the cost extremely reasonable a 1/4 of what the other vets charge!"
  • "Their prices are also reflective of this, as other vets quote a huge amount more for the same services."
  • "Fantastic vets, my kitty lokistar has just been spayed, chipped, jabbed etc by Animal trust and the vets were amazing with her."
  • "Very helpful staff. I had my baby girl shy put to sleep just before Christmas. Then our other dog keyoto had his teeth operation. Clean friendly readable price place."
  • "Efficient, caring staff who go the extra mile to make sure you and your pet are made to feel their number one priority. No hidden, rip-off fees here, just genuine charges."
  • "Can not fault the service and care Animal Trust provide to our beloved pooch. As a not for profit organisation their only interest is in your pets wellbeing, not earning £££s on expensive treatments."
  • "Our dog had to have quite a bit of surgery, the whole staff team were so caring and compassionate. I can’t stress how brilliant they all were. Secondary to the care the price was so cheap in comparison to other vets."
  • "Finally a vet that doesn't rip off! Good clean surgery, plenty of parking, do not need to pay, just enter your car reg at reception. Reasonably priced good caring staff."

Cons:

  • "Stating the neutering as a specific price online and then saying it’s actually going to cost you £180 more is very very misleading and unethical."
  • "Fixing poor Communication in this group Practice is a must...Not very clear with pricing Structure off Drugs / Transparent to pet owners, as 500 % above online mark-up medications."
  • "Do not go to this vets! They say that they are not for profit and they charge ridiculous amounts for medication!"
  • "We had appointment recently, I only asked in reception that the payment is reduced for Universal Credit... Lady in reception told me, that they are not a charity and £94 is a lower price for allergy injection already."
  • "The service was outstanding at The Vets. Such good staff with the animals. Would highly reccommend. We took our pet out of another vets to come here and so glad we did."
  • "Since taking over from The Vets, the animal trust has almost doubled the cost of prescriptions, stopped allowing me scanning the prescription to my suppliers, incorrect times on websites, stopped Saturday clinics and more besides."
  • "Shocking prices, how do ppl on low incomes cope, when they are the ones who need pets... Never ever use, we go to pdsa or a great local vet who hasn't been bought out."
  • "Do not take your pets to ANIMAL TRUST ASHTON. I was told my dog needed a tooth out so I paid nearly 300 pound for the procedure which should have been done today."

Staff and Service Quality

Pros:

  • "My little fur baby Poppy was extremely unwell yesterday and we nearly lost her... the staff were amazing, caring, informative and professional."
  • "Chris removed a tumour from daisys paw... Can’t thank him enough."

  • "Great service by all staff Andrew the vet was great with her... The veterinary nurse also spoke to me putting us at ease."
  • "I had very unpleasant situation with the receptionist Laura yesterday... then she stated she can squeeze me in another day (this doesn't help, when i was booked on today's appointment and I was 12 min before my appointment in the surgery!!!)."

  • "Fantastic vets, my kitty lokistar has just been spayed, chipped, jabbed etc by Animal trust and the vets were amazing with her."

Cons:

  • "Registered my puppy online and then messaged via Facebook to get more information... I got an abrupt response advising ‘there are other benefits to it’ (but not stating what)."
  • "Fixing poor Communication in this group Practice is a must... One of the staffs attitude was rude, arrogant, derisory and unprofessional."
  • "Very unhelpful service. They said we are not in their area for help with vet fees/care...Just fobbed us off to pdsa who then said we are not in their catchment area either!"
  • "Tried to tell me I didn’t have an appointment proved that I did then said I cancelled it if that was true I wouldn’t have drove 30 mins from Salford they literally took one look at the size of my dog and decided no worst vets in Manchester."
  • "The Vet in Ashton, is a great place to go if your pet is unwell. The staff are friendly, and it really is all about your pet. They try to make it as stress free as possible for you and your pet."
  • "First time visiting as my puppy had his first injection here... Felt like I couldn't ask any questions, rushed and bad for not bringing documents which were asked for."
  • "The actual vet was amazing, when I eventually seen him. However the receptionists were awful, messed my appointment up, had to wait 40 minutes plus extra."
  • "Allowed me to register online then ignored my emails... Ignorance or incompetence? Who knows but wil not let them near my dog.... Avoid.... Well you don't have to they avoid you."

Facilities and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "I have just recently started to take my dog to Animal Trust Ashton branch... The parking is so much better and the reception staff are lovely."

  • "They booked my dog in quickly, all staff from reception to vets were lovely and very friendly, they treated my dog with love and care I felt safe with them looking after my dog."
  • "Great service! it was warm welcoming and friendly they have a separate waiting area for cats and dogs wich I thought was great."
  • "Had to take my brothers dog there last week following operative complications... staff were very compassionate & caring. Sadly my brothers dog had to be euthanized but the kindness and advice received from the staff made the sadness at having to make that decision a little bit easier."
  • "Used a drop in session today, thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the waiting area. Reception staff were very welcoming."
  • "Great new facility convenient for anyone living in Tameside & being familiar with the use of the Animal Trust service, car park IS pay & display, but lm not that if you provide the receptionist with your car registration, this makes you except."
  • "First time visiting the vets with my dwarf hamster the waiting time and price was great cheaper than I though it would of been for antibiotics and to be seen to."

Cons:

  • "We've been with these vets since before they became Animal Trust... My only nitpick is that our cat is on monthly medication for life, and they've told us they can't do a monthly automatic prescription so we have to request it every month, which is annoying."
  • "we used to come here occasionally but now we go to a different one in another area due to not being able to answer a phone call."
  • "The Vet in Ashton, is a great place to go if your pet is unwell. The staff are friendly, and it really is all about your pet. They try to make it as stress free as possible for you and your pet."
  • "Very busy place could save you a few quid though and make sure you give your vehicle reg in just incase you go over 45 min you will get a ticket if you forget just ring them up and they will sort it for you."
  • "It would be nice if this place would answer the phone calls. Service is fine once you're there but to actually talk to them and to book needed appointment is a rocket science."
  • "Was busy very noisy trying to talk to the vet about what's wrong with your pet not able to go in the consultation room with your pet yet you can in the Failsworth and Bolton animal trust."
  • "Very helpful treated my cat sassy when she needed her tail removed and nobody else would help because all they care about is money were the vet loves animals and they do payment plants too too suit everyone’s needs."
  • "Shocking booked my appointment and rung a few days later to add something on and was told and demanded to pay the full vet bill before they was even seen ! WILL NOT BE USING THEM EVER"
