  • "Efficient service and friendly staff."
  • "The staff are very friendly and kindly answered our questions about different types of coffee."

Cons:

  • "The staff are the rudest most ignorant people I have ever come across."
  • "Didnt appreciate the customer service by long haired barista (guy)."
  • "Staff were a bit slow on getting us our menu's even though they gave others that walked in after us."
  • "Service was pleasant but understaffed for the numbers there."
  • "Usually enjoy B&H, popped in for a take away coffee today, service was pretty poor and wasn't greeted or acknowledged for several minutes despite standing next to the til whilst the staff chatted."
  • "Took ten minutes to get a menu and then the waitress ignored us!"

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Top level brunching. Their full English equivalent was dreamy, both in terms of its component parts and its value for money."
  • "It’s quite pricy for brunch but the ingredients used seemed to be the reason as to why they charge what they do. They were fresh and had a lot of flavour."
  • "Awesome place and awesome service! We ordered the English breakfast to go and it was delicious."
  • "Amazing coffee and breakfast. The stuff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great! Lovely music selection too."
  • "Good coffee, great food, the nicest staff ever... 10/10."
  • "The egg choukchouka is worth to try."
  • "Slightly pricey but very nice food. Would definitely recommend the Avocado, Eggs & Chorizo!"

Cons:

  • "Ordered the granola bowl and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it! There was very little fresh fruit and minimal yoghurt, the granola was spoilt by over 40 hazelnuts which tasted nice but completely overpowered the dish."
  • "The truffle hollandaise neither tasted of truffle, nor of hollandaise, which is quite a feat!"
  • "The mushrooms tasted like they were pickled in truffle oil and that killed any of the mushroom taste."
  • "Expensive bacon and egg sandwich. In very hard toasted bread. No flavour and stale bread before it was toasted."
  • "Food was okayish, not worth the price on the menu."
  • "The cuisine doesn't meet expectations. The flavors lack harmony, and certain dishes lean towards being greasy."
  • "The food was alright, nothing special and definitely doesn't deserve the price that's charged."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The atmosphere is chill and relaxing."
  • "Down to earth atmosphere in a kids and dog friendly environment."
  • "Very chilled place with nice decor."
  • "It's always busy and bustling here at bean and hop but for a reason. The food is fantastic and so is the atmosphere."
  • "One of those surprising places on a high street where you are made to feel very welcome without being fussed over."
  • "Everything about this place is fabulous - food, drink, music, decor, staff, free WiFi..."
  • "The venue was great, the staff extremely friendly and keen to get involved and the whole vibe was superb."

Cons:

  • "It gets really loud - some soft furnishings wouldn't go amiss."
  • "If you are looking for a quiet drink this isn't the place for you."
  • "This is more of a locals place I think - not somewhere to drop by if you're not local. A very weird vibe."
  • "The tables are quite cramped and very noisy, which can be a good or bad thing!"
  • "Sometimes it gets really noisy and during summertime they had a problem with their A/C which turn the coffee shop in a big human oven."
  • "I’ve been here twice, once for breakfast where I thought it was quite expensive for what we had."
  • "I think it was quite overpriced for what it was, especially considering there are so many brunch places in the area which do similar things for less!"

  • "The food was nice but it was very expensive."
  • "It's a slightly bit too pricey for the area but will recommend."
  • "Spending approximately £30 on brunch and coffee seems disproportionate."
  • "In a world where individuals are struggling financially, places like this will fail if they don't significantly up their game, rather than simply upping their prices."
  • "Family lunch out… very uncomfortable seat … dirty pillows….extremely dirty toilet…the tables dirty… the floor absolutely dirty the service was ok… no good on top of that very very expensive..and the food wasn’t that good…"

Hygiene

Pros:

  • "Amazing neighbourhood place. Brilliant coffee, delicious food and lovely people!"

Cons:

  • "The food was very good i would go back for the food. But at the end of our visit a customer came in with a dog and I didn't like the fact the staff was touching the dog and then handed out coffee to other customers with out washing there hands after touching the dog."
  • "When my breakfast eventually arrived, after around an hour's wait(!), it too was cold and served on stale toast that was so hard, I couldn't cut it with a steak knife."
  • "Food took 30 minutes to come and was stone cold."
