Shop Variety

Pros:

  • "Ravenside is the go-to place for all your shopping needs in Bexhill-on-Sea"
  • "We use this company for 1to1 transfers to and from the airport."
  • "The ravenside has quite a few shops including but not limited to home bargains, boots, tapi, tesco extra, b&m, marks & spencers."
  • "Good selection of shops and lovely, two-story M&S."
  • "A good range of shops but the slope on the pathways makes pushing a heavy trolley back to your car a challenge."
  • "First time today we visited this retail park been past it many times on the way to Hastings, glad we did it has a great range of shops."
  • "Great and so pleased we were able to park so long as I met friends for tea at the M+S and enjoyed long chat."
  • "Free unlimited parking, 2 exits & entrance at either end. Access to a beach around to the left of the Swimming Centre."

Cons:

  • "Unfortunately this is a very average shopping area. Without even one single clothes shop, (unless you're prepared to wear clothes from M&S and look like everyone else's grandpa whatever your age.)"
  • "Need more choice of shops. Poundshop needs refurbishment."
  • "Parking was very difficult when we tried to park it was very busy."
  • "Not a massive selection of shops compared to some other retail parks, but enough for most."
  • "The stores at this site do their best with the space they have available, but do suffer with not being able to supply the stocks available at larger sites further afield."
  • "Although it doesn't have a great deal of shops it's very popular and parking can be difficult."
  • "Bit underwhelming, but if you need a Halfords, Pets at Home or B&Q then it's the place to go."
  • "None of the stores are very good, dark dingy, not much choice."

Parking

Pros:

  • "Loads of parking. Not been to other shops in the park."
  • "Parking was okay but had to park at quite a distance from the entrance in the rain."
  • "Very busy but parking is generally not a problem."
  • "Always busy here, but a useful selection of shops if you're hungry particularly. General shopping."
  • "My only bugbear is parking. I have had my car damaged many times with people opening doors widely and damaging my doors."
  • "Free parking with other retailers in the complex, it's Tesco so you should know what to expect."
  • "A good choice of shopping including M and S larger store, B and Q, Tesco, Boots, Halfords etc. although parking sometimes a bit tedious especially at holiday times."
  • "Free parking and alot of it is avalable while mother child and disabled parking at the doors to nearly all shops."

Cons:

  • "The carpark can be a nightmare with silly drivers not knowing how to park properly."
  • "Parking can be 'fun' when busy, but is free, if cramped sometimes."
  • "The car park is too small and within it the spaces are far, far too small for most modern cars."
  • "The shops in this park are fine, but the parking and road layout is ridiculous."
  • "Parking is not usually a problem except for Sundays when the ritual of putting on the tracksuit bottom, trainers and displaying the paunch, for the men at least, has become a day to avoid."
  • "Parking needs to be expanded though as it must impact business negatively."
  • "Parking can be a joke, same amount of shops as the crumbles, a quarter of the parking space."
  • "Driving round aimlessly trying to park getting stuck in the queue for McDonald's (tiny roundabout totally blocked trying to leave) not my idea of a fun shopping trip."

Food and Dining Options

Pros:

  • "M&S have an excellent food dept and cafe but I find the lighting in the Clothing area to be poor."
  • "Good retail selection, but very busy and parking places hard to find."
  • "Some useful shops all situated together, with free parking, two take away restaurants and a food van."
  • "There's a large M&S, Halfords, Tescos and B&Q. There's nowhere you can pop in and have a cup of tea."
  • "I mean, it’s a small retail park, has McDonald’s and KFC for food, Poundland, B&M + Tesco."
  • "My absolute fave place for a solo coffee and serious scenes of our East coast."
  • "Only popped into KFC, drive through fairly quickly and easily, order was checked and sealed."
  • "Good for food (kfc and Mcdonalds along with Tesco) also very practical B&Q, Halfords + swimming pool."

Cons:

  • "Queue for McDonald's was ridiculous."
  • "It's OK for a place to grab a bite to eat and sit in vehicle to eat. Not much really as a supermarket."
  • "Drinks are definitely on the higher price side in line with other cafes such as Costa etc."
  • "The worst part is the badly run down decrepit smelly old swimming pool/leisure centre which is badly in need of a complete overhaul & refurbishment."
  • "Parking was a hassle to manoeuvre around and park."
  • "Didn't appreciate the attitude when we arrived and they wrongly thought that we were going to change our mind on what we wanted to eat."
  • "Visited the restaurant. Limited menu. Staff efficient but not very welcoming."
  • "Very shabby and run down. Very busy. Life guards very risk averse."
