Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Its probably the cheapest meal you can find in Soho and absolutely delicious."
  • "The food is incredible, everything my friends and I tried was absolutely delicious."
  • "The most flavoursome vegan dishes I have ever tasted, eg Malaysian salad with pineapple and black bean dressing."
  • "Both times the food was delicious."
  • "All dishes have a great depth of flavor, so that you can really taste that everything is homemade."
  • "Vantra has the most delicious food I have ever eaten."
  • "Absolutely blown away by the flavours."

Cons:

  • "Arguably the least pleasant vegan restaurant I've been to... The food was of very poor quality, bitter in taste, and stale at times."
  • "Some things are nice some are bland."
  • "Bland and tasteless."
  • "The food was lacking in any kind of flavour. I'm very happy to eat healthy, low salt, low oils etc. But you either make it tasty some other way, or I don't see a point in eating."
  • "Sweet potato instead of being sweet was sour, felt like fermented and was just awful for me."
  • "The food looks amazing, but comes across as a bit bland... It wasn't bad, but it wasn't £16-for-a-(big)-plate-good."
  • "All the food was quite samey, it was all kind of school dinner slop."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service here is top-notch, friendly, and efficient."
  • "The staff were super lovely. The waitress was really friendly and nice, despite being short-staffed and the restaurant being really busy."
  • "An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We were looked after so well."
  • "Lovely, friendly knowledgeable staff - a tremendous restaurant."
  • "The staff is extremely polite, courteous, and knowledgeable."
  • "The staff were incredibly friendly, servicing and helpful."
  • "The staff is fabulous and went above and beyond."

Cons:

  • "There were only 2 serving staff on and it got super busy, so they were a bit stretched."
  • "Had to ask for water 2 times (they weren’t busy), I’m more used to when you get it automatically with the table and don’t ask at all."
  • "Modifications that were requested weren’t made and we waited 30+ min for our check."
  • "Service was quite poor. Waited in line for a while despite having booked a table in advance."
  • "But the service was way too slow."
  • "Service was also very slow but they were clearly short staffed."
  • "It did take a while and we had to ask to be able to order, to pay, and then to pay again."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely, perfect soft lighting and lovely soft music."
  • "Everything about this cute little tucked away Vegan restaurant is Gorgeous! From the ambience, to the service, to the tastebud dancing food."
  • "Close to Piccadilly Circus station, this 100% vegan restaurant has a very laid back atmosphere."
  • "A hidden gem in Soho!"
  • "The wonderful atmosphere and touch of nice and relaxing music made this experience perfect for us."
  • "The chill music and decor give such a nice atmosphere and looks like you're in some kind of cool, conscious festival, very cozy, super welcoming to everyone."
  • "It was like an oasis in the crazy London on a Saturday night. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere."

Cons:

  • "Basic interior downstairs."
  • "Maybe the one area for improvement I would note is that when you enter the front door, you must go down some stairs to access the restaurant and I'd love to see a bit of care put into this entrance area."
  • "Front entrance could be updated."
  • "The music was a bit too loud for a very quiet Tuesday night - it made it very difficult to hear the person I was with, sitting opposite me."
  • "Also not a very happy, vibrant place for my personal taste and feeling."
  • "Strange atmosphere. Very much like being in someone’s home, where you feel obliged to continue eating the food, even though it is bland and boring."
  • "The venue was in a poor state. The floors were dirty, the table was sticky and the glasses were grimy."

Value

Pros:

  • "I paid 6 pounds for my giant plate of food!"
  • "Delicious vegan and gluten free food. Reasonably priced."
  • "It was £66 for 2 adults eating 2 courses and having alcoholic drinks, including service charge. Which for central London is reasonable."
  • "The dishes are priced on weight and much more reasonable than ridiculous prices like at Tidbits and other restaurants that price on weight."
  • "Great value pay by weight buffet."
  • "Delightful service, comfortable seating and very reasonable prices."
  • "The food is so delicious and you also get quite a big portion for the price."

Cons:

  • "Felt ripped off when we saw the bill."
  • "Both were really great, although maybe slightly overpriced with quite a big difference in price between sitting in or taking out."
  • "I felt that despite it being buffet style, prices paid for the amount of food I got were high. Deserts were particularly expensive."
  • "Very over priced also."
  • "One missing star is for the price I had to pay as I rather found them on the expensive side."
  • "The juice we had was very small and pricey."
  • "Paid £14 for a box to eat in, the labels make it state as a buffet style option however it's not."
