Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Drink options were great, and starters (bread, empanadas, sausages) were incredible!"
  • "Had a great ribeye beautifully cooked."
  • "Had one of the best Ancho steaks I've ever had, discovered Tanito, a blend wine, and it's honestly just hit home."
  • "Steaks were tasty and the chocolate brownie was nice and rich."
  • "Food was superb. The steak was very well made and clearly a good cut."
  • "The steaks are the highlight of the menu and are generally excellent."
  • "Food and drinks of top tier and of high quality."

Cons:

  • "We ordered medium steak but one was well done."
  • "However the steaks served for the mains and the desserts left a lot to be desired."
  • "The steak was a bit on the well done side when my partner asked for medium but still tasted really good."
  • "Overall food is nice, the only thing I'd complain is their chips."
  • "Food was average at best razor clams sold as scallops !!"
  • "Strongly suspect the steak I received wasn't a fillet."
  • "The steak was not nice at all. It came undercooked in the middle section and had the texture of jelly."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you."
  • "From the moment we stepped in, service is warm and impeccable."
  • "Had an amazing dinner at Gaucho, attentive staff, we were greeted at the entrance."
  • "The atmosphere is very friendly and service was impeccable."
  • "Our waitress was super nice, very knowledgeable of all dishes and knew what to recommend based on our preferences."
  • "Rossella is one of the best waitresses I have come across ever, she treated us with respect the moment we came in and her customer service was 10/10."
  • "Thank you to the incredible staff (especially Rossella & Carolina)."

Cons:

  • "I was missing a fork half way through the meal, so picked one that was randomly left on the side of the table."
  • "Waitress was a little slow, but I put that down to serving too many tables, not her ability."
  • "Time restraint for brunch were too strict."
  • "Sides not worth it at all. Very overpriced for the most basic of ingredients."
  • "Even though they deducted the fillet it was still a £70 a head meal without drinks so feel a bit ripped off."
  • "Service was bad - our guest (3rd person who joined 2 of us for just a drink) wasn't offered food or drink."
  • "The last issue was the toilets - there were not cleaned between each person using them."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "The ambiance is elegant and very discrete."
  • "The décor is tasteful and reflects the harbor within which it sits."
  • "They do a very reasonable magnum of champagne too, the final bill was good value for the quality of food and service."
  • "Food and ambiance was really good. We had ribeye steak (300g) and a cookie dough (to share) for dessert."
  • "Attractive modern venue and décor."
  • "Great venue with exceptional service. One of the best Gauchos I've been to, lovely decor and great food as always."
  • "The ambiance is also unique in that is an underground cavern for the main dining hall while the bar upstairs is in a modern glass igloo/trapezoid shaped structure."

Cons:

  • "Was slightly on the noisy side but what's to be expected from a Saturday night in London Liverpool street?"
  • "It's a shadow of its former self and perhaps not moved on with the times."
  • "The drinks were very poor quality (you could taste the chemicals in the poor quality alcohol)."
  • "The facilities were very poorly maintained as seen in the pictures I've posted."
  • "Ridiculously dark bathroom & no hand cream??!"
  • "It's mostly hard surfaces (lots of glass and wood) and can get very loud when busy."
  • "The wait was insane. For everything."
