Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Really recommend the Tandori Masala Lamb chops, they're the best piece of meat I had in years."
  • "The Achari Paneer was exquisite, and the Khatta Meetha Paneer was extraordinary."
  • "Incredibly flavorful and rich. I highly recommend the butter chicken and the tandoori lamb chops."
  • "Some of the best chicken tikka, butter chicken and daal maharani we have tried."
  • "Each dish was a masterpiece of flavors."
  • "These were the best desserts I’ve ever had at any Indian restaurant."
  • "Every bite was a culinary experience and just blew my mind each time."

Cons:

  • "By the way the desserts were the worst thing on the menu, I wouldn't order that again!"
  • "The biryani was disappointing, seeming to have no flavour at all."
  • "Even the naan was quite floppy. No real crisp, massively undersalted."
  • "The salmon was not very tasty at all..and almost a little watery."
  • "Nothing special in terms of taste."
  • "The paneer dish was just overpowered with the taste of elachi (cardamom)."
  • "The food was disgusting and bland all you could taste is chilli the quality zero."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were very attentive and friendly, and made the whole experience really enjoyable for us all."
  • "Service was solid (bartenders were especially great to chat with as we waited 15 minutes at the bar for our table to be ready)."
  • "The service at Gymkhana is also unmatched."
  • "The staff were over and above in charm and knowledge about the food."
  • "The service was perfect, food was bought out fresh and delicious."
  • "The staff was courteous, conscientious of my wife's dietary requirements, and the perfect mix of hospitality."
  • "The service was so wonderful. They treated my three-year-old with respect and kindness."

Cons:

  • "Only disappointment was the service charge was excessive and we was charged for tea at the end after having asked for the bill (which amounted in excess of £880)."
  • "Just at times feels like a machine to churn out customers and a bit transactional rather than friendly."
  • "Only minus for me is our waiter didn't really explain the menu options and what was good."
  • "The server was very unfriendly and seemed very annoyed service us."
  • "We were very disappointed when 2 hrs into our slot...Still eating the course before dessert we were told that we had to leave in 10 minutes because another booking was about to arrive."
  • "Our server only came to our table once, then at 9:50pm, a separate server brought us our check because there was a private party coming at 10pm and we would need to vacate our table."
  • "The service was confusing and weak."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "A breath of fresh air for Mayfair restaurants - beautifully presented like many of the other restaurants, but with polite and approachable staff."
  • "Michelin starred with beautiful plush interiors."
  • "The restaurant itself is beautiful. It feels like you're walking into like a 70's disco club."
  • "The ambiance and decor was spot on."
  • "The ambiance is great. Interior is stunning and elegant."
  • "Beautiful atmosphere, decor and a touch of elegance."
  • "The venue is beautiful, really elegant and attention to detail."

Cons:

  • "The only criticism I have is that the entrance is quite narrow and since someone was being seen to at the desk when we entered it felt a little cramped."
  • "Ventilation system seems to be not working, for a mayfair fine dining experience you shouldn’t come out of restaurant smelling like curry."
  • "We were on the Vault room, however room is quite small not comfortable neither cosy."
  • "Atmosphere feels a bit cramped but still classy and beautifully decorated."
  • "They allocated small den kind of a place which was very very small and suffocating."
  • "The table allocation of 2 hours means the food comes too quickly and it completely ruins the overall experience."
  • "Unlike most tasting menus, the portions are large - but this means by time we reached the 4th course which seems to be the main one, we could barely eat any of it and a huge amount of food is wasted."

Value

Pros:

  • "The new early evening menu available from 5-6pm is extremely good value for money with four courses for £35."
  • "You can dine on a reasonable budget as well, we spent around £150 but we over ordered."

  • "Very good value tasting menu with generous portion sizing."
  • "The lunch menu was excellent value for money too."
  • "Lunch prix fixe menu was great value."
  • "The value for money is truly excellent!"

Cons:

  • "Only disappointment was the service charge was excessive and we was charged for tea at the end after having asked for the bill (which amounted in excess of £880)."
  • "For almost £500 for 2, there are probably at least 50 better experiences in London."
  • "In the end we ended up paying £150.00 per person, which I think was a bit overprice for the food itself."
  • "A sadly average experience for a couple reasons. First and foremost the pricing is outlandish."
  • "We paid over $600 to dine with you for a very special occasion, and were disappointed with the food and DEFINITELY the service."
  • "It costed an arm and a leg. But it's 100% worth it."
