Staff Service

Pros:

  • "Nick has been really helpful with food selection for my friends as they’ve got dietary restrictions."
  • "Raul in the restaurant... was very helpful and quickly sorted out the steak which was a bit undercooked to how I liked it."
  • "Staff friendly and approachable."
  • "Daniel served us and he was great. He was very patient with the children making their orders and asking a lot of unnecessary questions."
  • "The waiters were courteous and helpful enough."
  • "The staff were very friendly and helpful."
  • "Staff very efficient and friendly."

Cons:

  • "There's one member of staff (man with long hair in a pony tail) who's extremely rude to customers."
  • "A member of staff at the bar... was very rude and said she could not understand what I was saying."
  • "Staff seemed to be working on their own time zone, they were rude, arrogant, smug and condescending."
  • "However, when my meal arrived it was cold, it had clearly been sitting a long while to be served to me."
  • "When the waitress brought our food some of it felt out of the plate to the table and she didn’t even bother to bring more food nor clean it, nothing no even an apology."
  • "Asked another member of staff could we order off her, she was rude and acted as if I'd asked her to jump over flames for us."
  • "We were met with a rather rude answer that there were no free tables."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "I had the lamb burger and rosemary fries which I can recommend."
  • "The food was excellent and we all had a lovely evening."
  • "The food was really good and the ambiance within the restaurant was excellent."
  • "The food was delicious, well presented and served quickly which was welcome."
  • "Great meal and the hot wings are amazing."
  • "Food was cooked nicely served quickly and reasonable price and they dont wack on a service charge like some places do."
  • "The food was fantastic and the staff that served it to us was ever smiling and helpful in our choice for food."

Cons:

  • "By far the worst roast I’ve ever had. The single piece of overcooked, dry beef, the uncut carrot and watery gravy."
  • "Small portions, big prices, and the seafood linguini made me feel like I had fallen in a tourist trap in Venice - they were not great."
  • "The pork was so overcooked it was too tough to get a knife through."
  • "The roast potatoes were awful - not soft and fluffy in the middle, just extremely oily throughout with no crispy skin."
  • "However the food was dreadful. Had two Sunday roasts and both the pork and beef were dry and tough to the point of being inedible."
  • "The roast beef was very rare and in some places completely raw-looking."
  • "Disappointed as the food was of a mediocre quality for the price."

Atmosphere & Decor

Pros:

  • "We’d just booked for dinner but happened to be there for the Halloween quiz as well which was absolutely brilliant, and not just because we won!"
  • "We had our Christmas party here and we're sat in a small glazed room on the first floor called the fish bowl... The table was set perfectly for Christmas and the lighting was just right."
  • "Quirky bar with plenty of comfy seats and a small outside area."
  • "Nice vibe and decor."
  • "Great pub/bar nice atmosphere set with a few farm yard animals which adds to the attraction."
  • "Lovely atmosphere."
  • "The Cow itself is a charming establishment with a cozy and inviting atmosphere."

Cons:

  • "Only problem is the clientele this pub can attract. We had people shouting, swearing and getting involved in other peoples tables being “friendly”."
  • "The whole place feels very new still, so it's hard to think it's authentic when going for that rustic look with lots of wood and old equipment hanging up."
  • "Noisy place. So it is for kinda fun and loud time with friends."
  • "However on a weekend there's music and it's unnecessarily loud."
  • "We were told to sit in the private room which the waiters were not accommodating, no music, no menu’s given to us or no service."
  • "Stupid security staff. Stupid rules."
  • "The roast potatoes were poorly prepared - hard in the middle."
