  • "The beach has a lovely backdrop of sandbank’s and pine trees."
  • "The sea can be a very distant view at times...."
  • "The beach itself is huge, with the majority being dog friendly, but also an area that is dog free."
  • "There are toilets and a cafe by the car park, which is handy."
  • "Beautiful large beach. The beach huts are lovely, definitely a photo opportunity."
  • "There is a separate entrance to the beach for dogs (and owners) and part of the beach is dog friendly."

Cons:

  • "No dogs allowed on a large proportion of beach... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻."
  • "Unfortunately there isn't anywhere close to the beach to buy a cold drink or a snack..for that you will have to walk back at the car park."
  • "So my first time here, and while the beach is quite striking in its size, that’s it."
  • "The sea was miles out! There’s also loads of signs for ‘no dogs’, yet still idiots have dogs on the beach and the vast majority are not even on leads."
  • "There are some no dog signs, which was sad to see people ignoring them."
  • "It was very busy and expensive at the Costa cafe I think it was."
  • "The ticket machines for the car park were very slow in operation and failed to work properly - so much so that the operators had to come out with handheld machines."
  • "Get ready to walk 1 and half mile to arrive at the beach. If you don’t find a parking space at the nearest parking you can take a bus and pay £2 per ticket."

Accessibility and Parking

Pros:

  • "Parked in the car park which took card payment and was £3.50 for two hours."
  • "Get there early as the car park fills up very quickly."
  • "The beach cafe near the car park is very dog friendly and sells good quality food at reasonable prices."
  • "The cafe near the car park does good snacks and hot and cold drinks, though the coffee is by a machine not a barrista."
  • "The nearest car park is expensive (card and cash accepted) but ensure you keep an eye on the time! I was 3 minutes over and got a parking ticket in the post a few weeks later."
  • "We arrived at about 9 am and the carpark was near enough empty. It’s £10 for all day parking and the carpark closes at 9pm."
  • "The car park closes at 9pm. There’s a café and ice cream van at the end of the carpark although we came fully loaded with a picnic so didn’t try anything."
  • "Fantastic beach, shallow water so great for kids. Sand castle building and ice creams. Car park close to the beach is reasonable."

Cons:

  • "We came in early august and luckily we got up early so could easily park in the big beach car park. It’s quite a steep hill (or steps) up to the top of the embankment, from where you go down to the beech - tricky for those who might struggle with walking."
  • "Yes. Just yes. My children love the sand, making pictures with the pebbles, looking for the small fish and looking out for seals. Time easily slips away at this beautiful beach. The nearest car park is expensive (card and cash accepted) but ensure you keep an eye on the time! I was 3 minutes over and got a parking ticket in the post a few weeks later."
  • "Well Next The Sea Beach is really well located, the car park is decent and there's good facilities; there's a café open until 5pm and a Ice Cream Van on until around 6pm depending upon how busy it is (the ice cream van is decent, but it is Mr Whippy and £5 for a double '99 so be prepared to dig deep if you've got lots of family and kids wanting a treat - they do take card payments though!)."
  • "An attractive harbour area with a long, perhaps three quarters of a mile, walkway along the inland waterway to the beach. There is some parking in the village/town, with a new-looking town car park at the beginning, for cars and coaches. There is a large car park at the beach, not cheap at £9 for the day, or hourly charges, with toilets, and a land train which will also convey you to the beach from the town for a £1.50 single journey."
  • "The xar Park at the beach was full so had to park in the town & walk ( not great when your knee is knackered & takes twice as long to walk it . Worth taking your own food & drink , cake is OK but a little dear."
  • "After driving to visit for the day and accepting it would be an expensive £16 to park for a day at the beach we discovered there were height restrictions on the car parks preventing access to campervans and motorhomes. Waste of time and diesel, we headed off to Holkham Beach which turned out to be much nicer, less crowded and half the price to park. Huge numbers of motorhomes head to the Norfolk coast on holiday, it's completely nonsensical to discriminate and not take their money."
