  • "Food was lovely, nice and hot and the quality was great! Service was fast and friendly!"
  • "The Yorkshire puddings were lovely too. The only thing I didn't like was the creamed cabbage."
  • "The prawn cocktail starter was lovely and you got loads of prawns. Followed by beef Sunday dinner which was perfect portion and cooked so well."
  • "The refit looks lovely, although we didn’t see it before. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My husband had a ribeye steak and I had hassleback halloumi."
  • "I had the Cumberland sausage and mash - the flavours were magnificent and everything was cooked to perfection."

Cons:

  • "The pie needed a steak knife to cut the crust and the filling had that much salt I only ate half."
  • "On both servings of fish and chips the chips were very dark brown in colour. Not burnt, but they were weird and soggy and tasted 'odd'."
  • "Food was 35 mins late even though as a party of 9 we pre ordered, once it arrived very disappointed it was bland."
  • "Ordered 1 burger and 1 pork loin. Both came cold / warm, certainly not what is expected from waiting half hour after starters were cleared."
  • "This time we were extremely disappointed. We first of all had to wait 45 minutes for the course that we had ordered and the when it came it was very very disappointing."
  • "When it came it was a burger with cheese and tomato on it and it tasted terrible."
  • "The food was luke warm and poor quality."
  • "It spoiled our visit as my son didn't really eat anything and it was a meal for my birthday. This was a shame because I'd been for bar meals before and enjoyed it."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were lovely, so friendly… they brought over lots of treats for my dog!"
  • "Staff attentive to the drinks levels too, never a point where our drinks were left less than half full."
  • "We were greeted and served by a very happy, smiling and courteous lady."
  • "Friendly and efficient service."
  • "The staff are all very young and lack some service skills but other than that it’s well worth giving it a try."
  • "The staff were brill and couldn’t fault anything. We will be back"
  • "The staff were friendly and helpful and allocated us a great space as I requested."
  • "Servers were very professional welcoming and friendly."

Cons:

  • "Some hygiene issues around staff petting dogs and then proceeding to make drinks behind the bar."
  • "Once we said cash she stood there waiting for the payment, at this time we felt a little rushed."
  • "Service - just needed to nudge them a little to get drinks and to order."
  • "The service was good to begin with, but as the meal went on the service deteriorated."
  • "The customer service was appalling. We arrived at 2.50. Out table was booked for 3pm. We sat around 3. Was asked if we wanted drinks around 3.30."
  • "However, waiting over an hour (75 mins) for a bar snack is not really ideal."
  • "The staff spent a lot of time just standing talking to each other, even had to ask one of them to clear the dishes from the table."
  • "The service needs to be a little more attentative to their customers."

Ambience and Decor

Pros:

  • "The place itself is beautiful."
  • "Lovely decoration and seating with large outside area when weather permits."
  • "The covered outdoor seating area has heaters, which are very warm and most welcome."
  • "It has a lovely warm atmosphere and our dog was made very welcome."
  • "Its nice and quiet with a really warm 'country pub' sort of feel."
  • "The furnishings are modern and there is a nice atmosphere in the place, we will definitely return."
  • "Nice pub - cool inside and nice seating and atmosphere - outside good selection of tables and wooden shed gazebo seating areas."
  • "The exterior of the pub with the heated seating areas, booths & good solid tables and benches are superb."

Cons:

  • "Sat at table quickly and drinks order taken, walk ins were asked where they'd like to sit, we soon discovered we had been sat next to door through to toilet and another door through to seating outside, so could not relax as people constantly walking past your shoulder, drafts from both doors."
  • "Tables are a little too close together and the lunch menu was limited."
  • "Didn't like the fact that the tables were so close together it was almost like dining with strangers at the table. The dining room was also very noisy ok if you want to shout to be heard."
  • "grey laminate floors and tiled surfaces leave it feeling cold and unwelcoming, no longer a cosy pub."
  • "There was no music no atmosphere place was empty 9pm Saturday evening."
  • "Although newly revamped, soft furnishings would dampen the echo sound of people talking in the large open areas... this would add to the experience of the evening for couples to enjoy nice meal and polite conversation..."
  • "I've been to eat here twice now and both times the service was terrible! A multitude of teenagers just standing around chatting and not paying any attention to the customers."
  • "Only stopped in while we were out walking. Had a drink and the cheese board. Really enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly. The outside seating area is the best I've seen."
