Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The best meal I have had in the UK for a very long time. Food and service 10/10."
  • "Charcuterie and cheese boards were excellent, also the beef bourguignon."
  • "The star was the dauphinoise, one of the best I've ever had. It had nice crispy bits on the top and bottom."
  • "Traditional french served tapas style which allowed us to mix and share."
  • "Amazing! The olive tapenade and baked camembert both to die for! Main dishes are delicious too."
  • "Been twice now - food is absolutely delicious (personal favourites are the boeuf bourguignon, gratin dauphinois, and poached pear)."
  • "Very nice starting platter to share, but didn't include bread for £19... Small plates to share for main - tapas style. Really good selection and very tasty."
  • "We had a great time here. The tapas were excellent tapas and the wine flights we had were a great way to sample wine."

Cons:

  • "We were underwhelmed by the taste and cooking of the food here. The pork medallions were a bit dry and overcooked."
  • "The food is good but very expensive for what it is. I appreciate that it's done in a tapas presentation but very expensive for the portion size."
  • "The gratin was a major disappointment - greasy with oil sat at the bottom of the dish."
  • "The olive tapenade was bland. On the other hand my dining partner ordered the duck and enjoyed that."
  • "Ok service, lovely space and good menu but poor cooking unfortunately. Not sure if we just got a bad day but 5 of the 7 dishes were really poorly prepared."
  • "My only issue was the dessert, mine came still frozen inside."
  • "The red wine of choice was lovely. So, all in all a mixed result but we enjoyed our evening. Won't be rushing back though."
  • "French tapas not something I have had before. Quality was good. However when we visited they kept running out of things."

Service and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The service is attentive and friendly. The place is clearly popular as even at 4pm as I type it is full."
  • "Great relaxed atmosphere, staff very attentive."
  • "The setting is really nice under the railway arch and feels very cosy with the lighting."
  • "I had a fantastic dining experience here. The serving staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive."
  • "Friendly and helpful service. Fancy feeling feast at a very reasonable price point."
  • "Huge selection of wine! Service is always really good. Can't wait for my next visit!"
  • "The service was superb and the atmosphere was really nice with a relaxed feel."
  • "I can't praise the staff enough, so friendly and knowledgeable! The food was amazing."

Cons:

  • "Lovely food but expensive. Dined at 5pm, two other tables filled upstairs. Bill was excessive so I checked it carefully."
  • "The single biggest insult was the service charge added onto the bill (and when we asked apparently it couldn’t be removed from the bill)."
  • "Ok service, lovely space and good menu but poor cooking unfortunately."
  • "We had an amazing meal here. The food was perfect and such good value. The sea bass was the best fish we have had in a long time."
  • "The food was great although staff were extremely rude. I pointed to a bottle of wine of the shelf beside my table, with a clear price shown."
  • "It's a resteraunt where the waiter explains the food to you, I would say friendly pretentious."
  • "The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food is stunning and intensely moreish."
  • "The service was great and the corona safety measures were exemplary. Our third visit, we will be back again I’m sure."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The price is reasonable for the great quality food."
  • "I had the 3 course lunch menu which was good value. The a la carte menu were decent too."
  • "Little bit expensive but worth it."
  • "Recommend for couples. Excellent location near to central station and main shopping areas."
  • "Bill came to £30 (no drinks), including service charge."
  • "The food itself was great. Traditional french served tapas style which allowed us to mix and share."
  • "Prices are high value but definitely worth it for the atmosphere and quality of the food."
  • "The food was amazing and very reasonably priced."

Cons:

  • "The food is good but very expensive for what it is. Our bill was well over £125 for two of us and I can honestly say I was not full."
  • "Very nice starting platter to share, but didn't include bread for £19... Small plates to share for main - tapas style."
  • "The service was excellent, but the food quality leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend to anyone else, very overpriced for low quality food."
  • "The food was fine as such and nothing wrong with individual dishes but tapas doesn't make sense within the classical French canon as a way to eat."
  • "Great restaurant, lovely atmosphere and fabulous vegetarian options of really tasty, top quality food. It's small sharing plates which won't be to everyone's taste."
  • "Visited for the first time staff were friendly food was good just not enough of it portions very small not the place to go if you want your fill."
  • "What a fantastic place. Genuine taste of France 🇫🇷. £44 quid a head was a bargain. Too full for pudding but it looked great."
  • "It's a nice place with a good atmosphere, the staff are charming but you pay a lot of money for not much food if eating the small plates."
