Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was delicious, the only thing we might not order again was the latte."
  • "The pancakes also looked delightful as did the set breakfast menu."
  • "The croissants are light, fluffy, and delicious especially the Nutella one."
  • "The savory crepe, I tried, named Parisian (Ham cheese and egg etc) is my crush."
  • "The food was really nice. I had one day the healthy yoghurt and another day the savoury crêpe."
  • "The savory crepes and gelettes that melt in your mouth."
  • "The dessert crepes, I think, are their pride."
  • "Amazing crepe and coffee. I loved the caramelised apple inside the Tatin crepe."

Cons:

  • "I’m disappointed since this place has high reviews. I ordered the Norwegian crepe. It was dry and over cooked."
  • "The salmon was too salty."
  • "My friend ordered the pumpkin pie latte and could only taste artificial sugar in her drink."
  • "The savoury crepe was nice but I’d probably prefer a different one next time as I wasn’t a massive fan of the flavours."
  • "Had a breakfast here which was disappointing, same as coffee, not a great quality."

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff were lovely and friendly."
  • "A very cute cafe with good service and good coffee!"
  • "The service and staffs are very patient full of service minds."
  • "The service was fantastic and very fast, the food was incredible and everyone was really really friendly!"
  • "The staff were very attentive and incredibly friendly."
  • "They are always content to care for any special requests to relay to the kitchen and discuss the menu."
  • "The owners are so friendly and cheerful."
  • "We felt most welcome. Crepes are absolutely to die for."

Cons:

  • "I was not expecting what I found. It is a decently sized Cafe that looks high class. I felt a little out of place for a visual meet up."
  • "The service cost should be my choice. If I think the service was good I can give a tip of any amount I like. It can be 0 as well."
  • "Had a breakfast here which was disappointing, same as coffee, not a great quality."
  • "My favorite cafe in the city. Great food offering overall. I would have expected the service to be a bit more friendly though, especially since I frequented the place so much."
  • "We went there a couple of weeks ago and had the French breakfast and also the pancakes with banana, walnuts and maple syrup. It was all delicious. The atmosphere in the café was nice and relaxed. The staff were all really friendly and helpful."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "Decorated with chandeliers and white tone, Le petit cafe brings simple but pleasant vibe."
  • "The interior is always immaculate and beautifully decorated, providing a unique ambience."
  • "Very sophisticated place with a French touch in the heart of Edinburgh."
  • "I felt like I was walking into a wedding dress shop!"
  • "The atmosphere brings you to France, and the couple who run the place is very kind and focused on the client."
  • "A really good variety of savoury and sweet, the difficulty was choosing! To top it off super lovely owners and a good price too."
  • "A nice place to start the day and watch the world go by in peaceful surroundings."
  • "The decor was classy and the cafe was spotlessly clean."

Cons:

  • "Le Petit Café is an okay spot. It wasn't really my style with all the girly and 'baby shower' decor going on."
  • "The vibe was a bit of a snooze fest and had no soul to it."
  • "My one downside is that the shop is painted grey on the inside. Although it gives this 'first class' feel to it, it does come off as a little cold."
  • "Main negative: machinery behind the bar (coffee machine I think) was so noisy that it drowned out our conversation several times."
  • "The café was clean, minimalistic design which lends to the chic feel of the venue."
