Location & Scenery
Pros:
"Really well situated for the Yorkshire coast and visiting Bempton Cliffs to see the puffins."
"The short walk to the cliffs to see the varied bird life was easy."
"The views are amazing and the walks along the cliffs are breathtaking!"
"Best place to get to see the Puffins was close to the campsite."
"Very close to the beautiful cliffs and a bird lovers paradise."
"This site is in a great location! Very close to the cliff tops & very near Bempton."
"Location is perfect for cliff top walks to Flamborough, Bempton gannetry, North Landing and so on."
Cons:
"The road upto the farm can be a bit off putting but it's worth it."
"Nice place to pitch up for a few days with sea views and close to Flambrough head Sewerby hall and Bridlington only downpoints are narrow single tracked road up to it with limited passing places not great for trailers or caravans."
"The drive up was so pretty with all the yellow flowers in the field at one side. It's only a narrow track, and as we were leaving, there was a bit of a traffic jam at the bottom of the lane."
"Also the dirt track could use a few more passing places. Some poor sod had to reverse down the first slope on the right and got stuck."
"The only downsides to this site ....its a long narrow lane from the road to the site, make sure before you set off that theres nothing coming the other way."
"Location is amazing, a short walk across 2 fields, climb a non dog friendly stile, and you are on the stunning clifftops."
"The site is a little out of the way but only a short drive from Town Centres."
Facilities
Pros:
"Facilities are clean and to a great standard."
"Toilets and shower were kept clean no matter what time of day visited."
"Showers and toilets spotless."
"Facilities are clean, the site is clean and tidy."
"The toilet block was clean and there are washing up facilities as well."
"Toilets nice and clean, great access to Bempton Cliffs."
"Facilities are clean and well maintained."
Cons:
"The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that all the showers and 1 toilet block was shut."
"The facilities were very basic with only 2 showers to accommodate the entire site and then having to pay £1.00 for 6 minutes."
"Also there are only 2 pot washing sinks...all of the hot water was hot, but very slow out of the taps."
"Clean toilets but unfortunately no shower block available."
"Good location but woefully inadequate facilities."
"There aren't enough toilets, and even fewer wash basins. The toilets have no handsoap, no sanitary bins, no mirrors and no toilet brushes."
"The facilities however are a joke, 1 block consisting of 2 toilets for men with one solitary shower and the same for women."
Owners & Staff
Pros:
"Owners friendly, helpful and chatty."
"Very friendly owners and great value for money."
"The owners are very accommodating and helpful and approachable."
"The owner whose name I didn't catch was a wonderful cheerful chap who made us very welcome."
"Very helpful with warm greeting upon arrival."
"Steve and Pat are a great couple, easy to chat to and very helpful."
"The Farmer, his wife and son are lovely people and nothing was too much trouble."
Cons:
"Strange owners. Pretty sure we heard them having a domestic whilst we were walking past the house."
"I get a phone call from the male owner informing me my 9 year old Collie/Shepherd cross was, in his opinion, too dangerous to have on his site, and my booking was cancelled."
"Really disappointing and just seemed as though the owners just want your cash and offer very little in return."
"I have rarely met such an arrogant, ignorant and uncaring person, baring in mind we had a child with us and he didn't offer any suggestions as to where we might stay or even apologise for their 'mistake'."
"It would seem they are only 'dog friendly' if your's isn't a Shepherd or anything even remotely related."
"Unfortunately, our new neighbours liked to have their music on loudly, so we couldn't hear the birds on the second night."
"No showers, which we were informed about but would put me off if staying longer than 2 nights."
Value & Pricing
Pros:
"Paid £90 for 3 nights tent camping over the bank holiday weekend so at first thought this was an ok price."
"A fabulous quiet site with views of the sea from some of the pitches."
"Great value for money."
"All in all this is a great campsite at a very reasonable price with great no fuss owners."
"Couldn't recommend Wold Farm Campsite more for a really relaxing break."
"Absolutely gorgeous site. Location is ideal."
"Tariffs are very good as well, there are lovely walks and a private path to the cliffs from the campsite."
Cons:
"Only criticism would be that the showers are £1.00 for 6mins and they are poor."
"Good location but woefully inadequate facilities."
"Despite the convenient location to walk along the cliff tops, we won't be returning here again. We felt cheated out of our money."
"Price on arrival higher than quoted on internet."
"When paying £30 a night, I would expect showers to be in use or the fee slightly reduced."
"The only downer for us was that the showers. They were £1 for 6 minutes, and there are only two, 1 in the males, one in the females."
"This is one of the most expensive sites we have visited at 19 pounds with EHU, So to charge £! for six minutes in the shower with the slot machine being outside the shower area is ridiculous."
Peace & Quiet
Pros:
"Very quiet and peaceful."
"A great find! Needed a quiet break away from the hussle and bussle of daily life."
"Brilliant campsite for those looking for a quieter, less roudy location to relax and enjoy the views and walks nearby."
"Beautiful, peaceful basic campsite close to the cliff footpath."
"Very quiet and spacious pitches."
"This camp site is everything it should be: quiet, not commercialised with basic amenities."
"Nice quiet site."
Cons:
"Parents sending their children away from their pitch to play loud games of football. Fine for the parents. Noisy for others."
"The main annoyance of the stay was that no noise rules seemed to be enforced."
"yes this site has stunning views and walks yes it is school holidays but really needs some rules implemented so the noise can be controlled without spoiling kids fun but it goes on far too late at night and crack of dawn."
"Unfortunately, our new neighbours liked to have their music on loudly, so we couldn't hear the birds on the second night."
"Voices do travel. We could hear a whole conversation from a van down the field."
"No shops/pub within walking distance."
"There isn't much for children there other than the puffins."
