Atmosphere & Decor

Pros:

  • "The interiors and atmosphere were so lovely I could have stayed there all day."
  • "It was relaxing and felt as if I was Zelda Sayre visiting London in the roaring 20s. The decor is fabulous!"
  • "Would absolutely go back here purely for the atmosphere and the comfortability of it all."
  • "The Coral Room sure is a classy place to have your drink. The great service, tasteful music, and nice decor make up for it."
  • "The restaurant itself is beautiful, very chic decor, vibrant colours."

Cons:

  • "On the downside, I found the decor and atmosphere extremely pokey, featuring selfie-taking tourists, people eating at the bar, and precarious barstools."
  • "Ambience/decor is decent, that’s the only thing going for it."
  • "I feel almost reticent about writing a review as this simply is not a bar that offers an experience that is comparable to the best that London has to offer."

Service

Pros:

  • "My waitress was so warm and lovely."
  • "The staff are very meticulous about making sure they abide by everyone’s tastes, allergies, and dietary restrictions, and are very patient and friendly!"
  • "Exceptional service and atmosphere. Went for afternoon tea and the scones are amazing!"
  • "Fantastic! Had such a nice afternoon tea with my mum here who was visiting from NZ. The service was great they really helped us make the most of the afternoon tea."
  • "The service was a little slow but interactions with servers were all great."

Cons:

  • "The person who sat us was very nice, but one of the dark-haired waitresses had quite an aggressive manner, and was very abrupt."
  • "However, my two faults are that the service was quite slow although our waitress was very kind."
  • "Was hoping to go for their terrace restaurant, but unfortunately it was booked out. The service was a little slow as it was very busy on coronation day."

Food & Drinks

Pros:

  • "Food was delicious and beautifully presented."
  • "Lovely place to get a drink. There’s a huge number of cocktails on offer."
  • "Really really enjoyed the dishes we ordered."
  • "One of the best experiences with afternoon tea in London! Everything from the food and service to the atmosphere is on par with the big ones!"
  • "The in-house cocktails were novel and delish."

Cons:

  • "I didn’t enjoy my Banana daiquiri cocktail, it tasted too strong."
  • "A beautiful aesthetic but I’m not sure about the cocktails. Why? Well, they are served in different sizes yet charges the same amount of money."
  • "But food wise, we were disappointed. We ordered 2 brunches: the starter was really good (falafel) but then the mains were not good and we couldn't even finish it."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The Coral Room is also very well situated, only a 2-minute walk from the British museum and in the heart of beautiful Bloomsbury."
  • "In general, reasonably priced and great experience, would recommend."
  • "Exceptional service and atmosphere. Went for afternoon tea and the scones are amazing! Would definitely recommend for the tea experience and is great quality for a reasonable price."

Cons:

  • "Although on the pricey side (£15 for most cocktails), the great service, tasteful music, and nice decor make up for it."
  • "A beautiful aesthetic but I’m not sure about the cocktails. Why? Well, they are served in different sizes yet charges the same amount of money, my cocktail has a huge chunk of ice in it which watered it down immensely."
  • "This place is a posh place. The drinks are not cheap😅 We paid £30 for a rose vine and Jack Daniels and Cola 🤭😁😱🥴"
