Decor and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The interior is busy with many interesting things all over the place, and the evening we visited it there was a relaxed bohemian atmosphere."
  • "It is a quirky, bright venue."
  • "The decor however is still as cool / funky as ever!!"
  • "The decoration inside is super cool."
  • "The decor is fantastic, teacups and tacky tat galore, Bony M, tiger plushies and Royal Family merch."
  • "The decor is fun and bright."
  • "The decor/vibes absolutely incredible."

Cons:

  • "More furniture than they know what to do with the seating area under the arch isn't a comfortable space."
  • "The only good thing about this visit was seeing all the random objects, which was fun for some photos."
  • "However the interior makes me nauseous, has a dirty, old feel to it rather than old fashioned and quirky."
  • "Decor was naff and impractical."
  • "Also the toilet decor is amazing; a must for anyone wanting to channel their inner Pat Butcher style!"
  • "The decor was truly one-of-a-kind. The vintage theme was evident throughout the venue, with quirky and unique pieces of furniture and decorations dotted around the room."
  • "No one wanted to sit in the small section out of the main party so all crammed into the wedge shape room, couldn't get up or mingle once seated - just wasn't space."

Service

Pros:

  • "Fantastic service from a dedicated staff."
  • "Tristan and the team were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating for our birthday and made the night so special for us."
  • "The service we received was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout our visit."
  • "The staff are super lovely and accommodating."
  • "The staff attentive and friendly."
  • "The staff were really fab, kept the food and drinks going and had a laugh with us, the atmosphere was great!"
  • "The staff were amazing and definitely made everyone feel welcome."

Cons:

  • "Staff were unapologetic and unhelpful, got drink orders wrong."
  • "Service wasn't that friendly, at one point the waiter bought out a packet of crumpets from the kitchen to show my friend."
  • "Appalling service. Taps were off, drinks tasted stale, complained to staff, and they went to drink out of our pint glass (!) before saying it was fine."
  • "The staff we met, one young lady, was lovely but they seemed very short of staff with our food taking quite a while to arrive."
  • "At my surprise, the staff wasn't friendly and borderline rude."
  • "I really hate to say this having worked in hospitality but the staff's attitude stunk."
  • "When enquiring about removing the service charge at the bar, you are greeted with rude abrasive staff."

Food and Drinks

Pros:

  • "Great cocktails."
  • "The drinks were amazing, the food was delicious and huge portions."
  • "Food is also incredible."
  • "The food was also fantastic - we particularly enjoyed the classic British dishes that were given a fun and unique twist."
  • "The finger food and cocktails were fun and most importantly delicious, Prince Harry & Lady Bet Lynch definitely were our favourites."
  • "The food is tasty."
  • "The food was lovely, with hugely generous portions, and the ambience was fabulous."

Cons:

  • "The drinks were appalling and expensive."
  • "The cocktails were insanely expensive, had very little alcohol in and were served in single use plastic pint glasses."
  • "Drinks were nothing special."
  • "The cocktails weren't great either too sweet like drinking a unicorn or sour as Teresa May's Brexit."
  • "Nice cosy place but the pre made cocktails are bloody awful and a terrible idea."
  • "The food was absolutely horrendous. We got an afternoon tea tower with stuff that you can buy in Tesco, marshmallows, flap jacks, twinkies, and sweets."
  • "The only good thing about this visit was seeing all the random objects, which was fun for some photos. The staff were confused by our order and gave us the wrong food, which took an hour to arrive."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "100% worth the money."
  • "Also! The drinks are reasonably priced too."
  • "Drinks are in large mugs. LARGE. Good for the money."
  • "The cocktails will give you your money’s worth!"

Cons:

  • "The drinks could only be ordered via a website - which couldn't be accessed easily by my phone due to the thick brick walls."
  • "The cocktails were overpriced and the service was not good."
  • "I find the drinks expensive £10.00 for a cocktail you have to order online and you pay a service charge which is about £2.00 or more so if you buy two drinks at £10.00 it will total up to £22.00 for two drinks plus service charge."
  • "Paying through the nose for a bang average experience."
  • "The drinks are of bad quality and over priced."
  • "Cocktails are £10 and mostly undrinkable - horrendously sweet and, in my experience at least, lacking in their most important ingredient: booze."
  • "But feel totally ripped off £17 each for the most pathetic buffet."

Facilities

Pros:

  • "It's quite small, but you can reserve a section if there's a group of you."
  • "In the pedestrian area outside has seating with umbrellas, which is good for smokers and children, though probably best not at the same time."
  • "You can order a takeaway and eat it there if you want."

Cons:

  • "Needs 3x as many toilets and at least twice the bar space to work well at busy times; I was there for a party on Saturday 20th April and we spent way too much of our evening standing in the queue for both."
  • "Very, very long queue for the only toilet with no cistern cover, continually slightly flushing."
  • "Over priced, trendy, one loo for three Arches joined together."
  • "Was here for a friend's private booking. There was only one working loo for several bookings and they didn't call out orders/make sure they were given to the right people they just set them on tables."
  • "Not a disabled loo in sight."
  • "No one wanted to sit in the small section out of the main party so all crammed into the wedge shape room, couldn't get up or mingle once seated - just wasn't space."
  • "We were split into two areas, a wall between."
