Scenery and Environment

Pros:

  • "This walk is absolutely stunning. The woodland scenery is just beautiful and the trail is really well done."
  • "Really beautiful woodland and the sweetest little faery homes, doors and features."
  • "Set in the stunning small village of Luss this walk takes you through some absolutely beautiful woodland."
  • "The entire area of Luss and surrounding hills of Loch Lomond is lovely and quite simply breathtaking."
  • "Stunning, stunning, plenty to explore, I have a boy who loves parcore so climbing down to water was a must for us, water is clear as glass."

Cons:

  • "The faerie trail has been adapted with cobwebs and spiders etc. for Halloween which we felt spoilt it."
  • "The trail itself is lovely, what you'd expect. It's more than just scenery, it's interactive for the kids."
  • "Although the forest was lovely and we enjoyed finding all the doors, I'm not actually sure what you are paying for?"
  • "This trail used to be a lovely place to go for a walk with the kids. It has now turned into yet another tacky highland tourist attraction."

Accessibility and Facilities

Pros:

  • "The half price ticket offer for November makes it really affordable - £10 for 2 adults, toddler and a baby."
  • "The site car park is well maintained and clean, and the same with the toilets located at there."
  • "A fantastic faerie trail ideal for young imaginations. Not yet accessible for buggies or wheelchairs with some hilly bits and rough stairs on the path."

Cons:

  • "The only thing I would say is the trail is quite a long walk for toddlers, no toilets etc so be prepared for that and would not recommend taking a pram."
  • "The wait at the silver trailer, however, was absolutely shocking. Arrived at 14:55 to queue for our slot of between 15:00 - 15:15. Waited in a very long, slow moving queue for 45 minutes."
  • "Great walk. It's not great for special needs visitors as there are hills, rough ground, and steep steps. Great for all the family otherwise."
  • "The car park and the Faerie trail are both owned by you (Luss Estates) therefore you are responsible for the running of both."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "First off let me start by saying ignore the people who say 'it's on a public trail for free blah blah' no! pay the money for the ticket and booklet with activities it's well worth it."
  • "Great little day out if you are looking for somewhere to take kids. We visited for the Halloween themed walk and it was a hit."
  • "A great place for kids of all ages, with good access and well laid out trail, add some sunshine & a little fairy dust and enjoy the trail. Close by eateries and hotel food, however parking can be expensive."

Cons:

  • "At £4 per adult and £5 per child it is pricey for what you get (goodie bag with booklet and pencil for answering questions during the trail)."
  • "The whole thing was overpriced and definitely just for young children, although they may fine the spooky theming frightening."
  • "Too expensive for what it is. Some nice carvings in a woods and a trail booklet, but £5 a child and £4 an adult is a form of robbery."
  • "Charging £5 per head to look at a bunch of cheap garden ornaments takes some nerve to begin with. Demanding an extra £100 from anyone who dares to change a nappy is frankly a joke."
