Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "I loved the atmosphere, buzzing with people who range from dates, friends, colleagues."
  • "I had a peek inside and the interiors are contemporary and look lovely."
  • "The atmosphere is really nice for a quiet Saturday lunch."
  • "Atmosphere was perfect."
  • "The happy hour cocktails 2 for £12 is great value for money. They are generally great taste."

Cons:

  • "The place was lacking atmosphere and it was very empty on Sunday evening."
  • "It's more of a cocktail place with 'Japanese' snacks. It's fine if you want a party vibe with a drink, not if you're looking for a decent authentic Japanese restaurant."
  • "Service let it down. All the food out was bought out so quickly we ran out of space on the table, servers trying to take things away we were still eating. Felt like we were being rushed through our meal."
  • "Service a little slow towards the end."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were super friendly. I’d go back again."
  • "The customer service was spot on too!!"
  • "Service was pleasant and flawless."
  • "The staff is constantly asking you if they can remove plates (with food!!) from the table because you have 1.5 hours to 'enjoy' their brunch."

Cons:

  • "They only lose a star in service as the lady who was looking after our table, I found was lurking around which felt like they wanted us to quickly leave."
  • "Service a little slow towards the end. We had a nice dinner and evening."
  • "The service was over abundant (we constantly had someone at our table checking in, made it very difficult to have a conversation)."
  • "The staffs seem super new and don’t know how to react and respond my questions about the dishes."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was LOVELY, sushi bursting with flavour paired nicely with a glass of wine!"
  • "The sushi platter was really nice, also perfect to share."
  • "The sushi itself was flavourful, the rice wasn’t mushy or too hard it was just right!"
  • "The food was absolutely amazing."
  • "The food was fresh and nicely presented."

Cons:

  • "The menu is varied but I found the flavours weren't well balanced (either too spicy, or too sweet or too bland)."
  • "Sushi is just okay. Sake is nice."
  • "The squid ink yakisoba and the truffle sauce that came with the crab croquette were a surprise."
  • "An authentic Japanese restaurant should have the kitchen visible but here a dumbwaiter is used - this explains a lot."
  • "The pulled pork croquettes were completely tasteless (and not homemade) and the chicken yakitori were tiny, extremely burnt and cost £9 for two tiny sticks."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "Giving 4 stars because I had 50% off food."
  • "Fantastic food at a great price (given the 50% off)."
  • "Great food at a great price. The ice burg lettuce thing was amazing! A highlight we were not expecting."
  • "The deco looks nice & trendy, staff was friendly with a smile. The food took a bit long to come out. The food was ok, but the portions are small! It's expensive for average standard, especially on Bethnal Green Road! £29pp & we only had 1 soft drink! (International foodie)"

Cons:

  • "At the current price point it is unfortunately relatively expensive compared to, for example, sushi restaurants we like in Aldgate East."
  • "It's expensive. It takes quite a while to arrive. There isn't a lot of it when it arrives. But it's so very tasty. If you like nouveau cuisine or beautifully presented food in small portions, this is the place."
  • "Prices here are too high for the quality of the food. Decided to loosen the purse strings a bit here and order some of the more expensive side of the menu (black cod, wagyu maki etc) but was left very disappointed."
  • "It cost £122 for two, including service, which feels probably £30 too much considering the quality of the food."
  • "For marketing point of view... it’s way too dark in the restaurant... I know fine dining or high end restaurants whatever are not about blogging or taking pictures... but if you want more people to come in the future... imagery marketing and sharing are very important to spread the dishes."
