Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Went to Cinq restaurant for breakfast. Had a brie and bacon panini with egg. Had a hot chocolate. It was lovely."
  • "Had a nice meal at Cote."
  • "If you enter from the Thames, head to the back and on the left there is a small restaurant, it had the best ice cream choices around, Peaches and Cream is highly recommend and the single scoop is more than big enough."
  • "Beautiful place for tasty tasty and hot food and chilled beer and wine etc."

Cons:

  • "£11.25 was what it cost me for the supposedly large version of the lamb kebab. Worst money I have ever spent."
  • "The battered cod burger is actually breaded fish that has the same texture as the frozen ones you get from the supermarket, felt like a waste of money!"
  • "Turkey was cold. They did not have any substitutes in place for persons with allergies nor proposed to offer."
  • "Went to cafe piazza, the service was fast and efficient but the food is lacking!"
  • "Do you like your kebabs to weigh less than the average iPhone? If so, Olive Bros is the place for you."

Ambiance and Location

Pros:

  • "Really love hanging out here during the summer and winter months as you get to see the Summer food and homeware stalls set up."
  • "Great open air pedestrian shopping area between London Bridge Station and Southbank riverside."
  • "This was a fun find. We were walking along the Thames river and came across this huge cute enclosed space."
  • "Ideally situated outside London Bridge Station by the riverbank side."
  • "The area around the Galleria is a place not to be missed around Christmas, with its wonderful tree and lighting is a good place to have a rest after walking around the tower of London and tower bridge."
  • "A lovely place for a drink and a good place to see the view of the city."
  • "A great little place located by the Thames."

Cons:

  • "Considering the lack of food shops along the sides of the gallery, it's a very odd installation."
  • "Used to be my favourite place in London Bridge but now disappointed the wood thing they put in front of the water fountain pirates boat really hiding a gem like that, why?"
  • "There wasn't much atmosphere which is a shame."
  • "The quirky 'Willy Wonka'-ish fountain, a petanque pitch? and unimaginative tenant mix only accent the now dull and dated ambiance."
  • "No one looked happy while working in the restaurant."
  • "It was cold and it was raining and almost everywhere was closed."

Service and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Excellent place to grab some food or sit and watch the world go by."
  • "A good place to spend time with family and friends. Wheelchair and disabled friendly."
  • "Staff is very very cooperative and customer friendly."
  • "Served speedily and efficiently by a very patient and polite waiter."
  • "Waitress staff friendly and good."

Cons:

  • "Delay on seating as table was not fully dressed."
  • "We had a family get together to say farewell to one of our relatives, they brought out the wrong food order and then argued that it was our fault, refused to give us our correct order."
  • "Finding your way out at closing time is a little tricky but there is a way out, you won't have gotten locked in."
  • "The waiter did not explain where it was or that I needed a code he just said go straight like if it was obvious they are under the stairs and not much of a service."
  • "Took ages to come as well."

Shopping and Entertainment

Pros:

  • "Hay's Galleria is a nice place to visit while walking along the Thames in Southwark."
  • "Impressive arcade with a huge art installation in the form of a replica sailing boat."
  • "A great place for shopping with a wide range of places to visit."
  • "There's some nice gift shops, a few restaurants and some outside spaces to drink coffee under the large glass roof."
  • "Always beautiful and a must see when exploring around London bridge and the Thames embankment up to Tower bridge."
  • "An extremely vibrant and colourful place especially during the Festive season, especially during Christmas!"
  • "Wonderfully covered galleria with small shops and a couple of spots to get a drink or something to eat."

Cons:

  • "I've been to this cafe several times and get more frustrated each time. I'll probably give it a miss from now on."
  • "Google maps show it's a shopping centre but I think otherwise, it only had a small handful of shops."
  • "Major issue is the toilets. You want to use the public toilets here? You need a code for the keypad next to the door."
  • "This influential 80's warehouse regeneration now seems exhausted, outdated and rendered anecdotal by the recent ongoing massive ‘redevelopments’ in the immediate neighbourhood."
  • "Unfortunately, the wharf suffered badly from bombing damage during WWII and never fully recovered afterwards."
