Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Had the minced pork ramen and was completely blown away with the flavours."
  • "Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu- their signature tonkotsu ramen. Their rich pork broth is creamy and packed with flavours."
  • "Delicious and authentic Tonkotsu ramen. Hakata style ramen was exactly like when I had it in Hakata (Japan), this is the real deal!"
  • "Love the ramen here. All time favourite is the curry ramen as the curry gravy is really delicious accompanied with the chicken kaarage which is still crispy in the soupy ramen."
  • "Delicious vegetarian Ramen with lots of nice flavours and containing some interesting vegetables."
  • "Tonkotsu Ramen: Broth is SOOO rich! Definitely has that meaty umami and saltiness."
  • "The best ramen I ever had, spectacular and a very fair price."

Cons:

  • "The cup noodles they sell aren't that good though. Just tasted like maggi noodles."
  • "The food was kind of gross. The noodles were a really odd texture."
  • "The bun was incredibly salty; the cheesecake crust was pressed so hard into the bowl, it was impossible to eat, and the filling was still too soft--it was a tasteless mousse rather than a cheesecake."
  • "The Ramen is sub par, it's no where near as good as Ippudu - which is far more delicious, punchy and flavorsome."
  • "The ramen just wasn’t very tasty or filling."
  • "Sloppy noodle, soup lacks deep flavor but with slight taste of starch, dry chashu with uneven thickness."
  • "The katsu curry was tasteless and bland."

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff are friendly and helpful."
  • "Service is good too, especially the Japanese lady who served me."
  • "The General Manager, Francesco, was amazing, excellent customer service, very professional, and cool guy!"
  • "The waitress was very attentive and available to all requests even if she seemed to be alone on the floor."
  • "Our server Veronica was an absolute gem, gave brilliant service to us and helped us enjoy our meals even more!"
  • "The staff are very accommodating and make sure you know about the allergies in dishes."
  • "Staff were excellent throughout our visit, if you need to see how to make people feel welcome, go to this restaurant."

Cons:

  • "Service, painfully slow. Even to European standards."
  • "The staff were really the main issue for us - they got the orders wrong and were rude about it, the meals all came at very different times."
  • "Staff are rude and with attitude. I asked for a fork 4 times, finally my wife stood up and got one."
  • "The service to take things away took a while though, but the lady behind the bar was eagle eyed and quickly got someone to come over."
  • "The servers were friendly, but service itself was a bit slow and it was difficult to get their attention."
  • "One of the waitresses, however, was extremely rude and unprofessional since the beginning when she welcomed with an incredibly negative energy."
  • "The service was incredibly slow, with staff members seeming unattentive and disinterested in providing a pleasant dining experience."

Value

Pros:

  • "The prices at Shoryu Ramen are reasonable for the quality of the food, making it a great option for a casual meal or a night out with friends."
  • "All reasonably priced and I will definitely be coming back!"
  • "It's a bit pricey here, but great for a treat."
  • "Great value if you get the £5 ramen on Monday and quick service on your lunchbreak!"
  • "The prices are also reasonable. With 12%service charge we paid 40£ for 2 ramens, edamame, 1 beer and 1 water."
  • "A bowl of ramen is between £10-15, which is normal for London prices."
  • "The prices are also very affordable for the area, hope to come back for bun Monday!"

Cons:

  • "For this price, u would be expecting something of higher quality."
  • "Only negative would be the price + automatic service charge - the only reason why I won't come back often."
  • "The downside is how pricey this place is for what you get. Ramen of this quality or similar would have cost less than half the price in Tokyo."
  • "Honestly, this place is way too expensive considering the quality of the food."
  • "However very expensive for what you get. The 15% service charge push the prices even higher- £13.40 for the basic vege Ramen."
  • "I was especially soured by how painstakingly expensive it is, especially when Chinatown is a 10m walk away and features a variety of way better tasting and cheaper restaurants."
  • "Really expensive."

Pros:
