Food Quality

Pros:

  • "My favourite place for ramen! Lovely atmosphere, the food never disappoints."
  • "The onigiri is nice but a little light on filling, the kaarage portion was a little disappointing but had decent flavour."
  • "I had tonkotso X which was very rich in flavour. My friend had pumpkin katsu curry and that was delicious."
  • "The tonkotsu broth and other ramen and side dishes were perfect, full of flavor and delicious!"
  • "Delicious rich ramen broth and the puddings are incredible."
  • "Authentic Japanese ramen especially the broth which is rich and delicious! Karaage is perfectly fried."

Cons:

  • "The broth was very watered down :-( I hope that the staff will pay more attention to the clarity of the broth."
  • "All the soups tasted the same, had the same basic broth despite us ordering three different soup dishes."
  • "Kanada-ya soup broth was SO thick, obviously taken out from a packet."
  • "The pork on top of the ramen. So hard ...Ramen soup does not seem to be very fresh."
  • "The quantity and quality of the food is sub par and does not match the photos on their sites."
  • "The food tends to be quite a bit worse in quality when it arrives."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "The staff is amazing! Special thanks to the lovely Polish girl."
  • "Lots of great choices of Ramen, very friendly staff and comfortable surroundings."
  • "The waitress was really lovey and she was super enthusiastic!"
  • "Had an amazing meal here. The staff and in particular Jessica have been brilliant."
  • "Staff are very attentive and listened to us whenever we had issues with our issues."
  • "Great staff and great food. I was really happy with Chris and Jess in particular who were extremely welcoming."

Cons:

  • "Oh and the staff while very pleasant, forgot part of our order too."
  • "We waited for two hours. We ordered gyoza as a starter which was burnt, onigiri had no flavour, we asked for water and another beer on at least two occasions and it never came."
  • "However, what we experienced makes me believe the staff (both kitchen and waiters/waitresses) has not that much of experience."
  • "We waited 1 hour and 30 mins which was understandable (2nd day opening) the food great, ramen was balanced and noodles cooked just right."
  • "Terrible terrible service. They got our order wrong several times, forgot items and served us two hours after we ordered."
  • "Soup is lukewarm and slimy. Too many customers waiting for their ramen and too much chatting among the staff."

Ambiance and Location

Pros:

  • "Lovely atmosphere, the food never disappoints."
  • "The decor of the place, lots of space and the service have always been wonderful."
  • "Spacious interior with friendly staffs."
  • "The ambiance was really nice."
  • "The environment: Quite a lot of dust could be seen on the light fixtures. The number of light is just too few that the whole restaurant looks too dark."

Cons:

  • "Because I’m not too familiar with the particular bit of Ealing Broadway, it was tricky to find the restaurant from google maps."
  • "The high bar chair was very uncomfortable with no foot rest."
  • "The bar stools tho, EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Wanted to get off these chairs after the first minute."
  • "The place is really cold, and I'm not talking about the temperature. Seating is uncomfortable."
  • "The city pop music was a great touch as well. Service was friendly and very quick, though as I mentioned there were no other customers when we ordered."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "All ramen comes with free toppings which was a good deal."
  • "The lunch menu is totally worth it; they give you a refreshing iced green tea with a Ramen of choice for £9.95."
  • "The reasonably priced lunch set deserves a higher score."
  • "The food was well presented and tasted good."
  • "Delicious food, friendly service, and great atmosphere."
  • "I went for lunch and wanted to get the vegetarian option but was told it run out. As I'm not strict veggie I said I'll go for the Tonkotsu X (£12.95) but would like to swap the pork pieces for an egg."

Cons:

  • "Please don’t claim itself ‘Japanese’ it’s definitely not. Safety! The stools keep falling down."
  • "The restaurant is not small but only 10 customers at the time I visited after the soft launch. They are still very slow to serve customers."
  • "I feel the value for money has gone down hill recently."
  • "There was a queue outside when I arrived at 1730, I waited for around 30 minutes before seated at the bar."
  • "Ordered 7 times by now from Kanada the first 4 were ok after that i dont know what changed BUT that small piece of chicken on the katsu curry and charge it 13 pounds, is a disgrace."
  • "Absolutely awful and absurdly expensive for packaged ramen. £2 to add an egg…. Why do I even need to pay an additional £2 for a STAPLE topping when it’s already overpriced trash."
