Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Really really good food and great staff."
  • "The food was very good, they catered for a toddler perfectly, the setting and facilities are amazing."
  • "It's a lovely place for lunch and dinner. Been there a few times now and always have a good experience, the people are nice and friendly and the food it's amazing."
  • "The food was delicious, and the portions are generous and because of that i would be happy to return."
  • "Food is great and the staff are very helpful."
  • "The food was incredible! We had parsnip soup, kids pizza (HUGE kids portions), Quinoa burger, beetroot salad, banana blossom, hummus and flat bread."
  • "Food was fabulous, we ordered the chicken kebab, which was huge, hot, and tasty."

Cons:

  • "The food was pretty bland, and lots of the options had weird ingredients that didn’t really go."
  • "The buratta was lovely, the duck MASSIVELY overcooked."
  • "Food was not great, Chef special beef medallions came on a bed of fine beans which took up majority of the plate, sauce that came with it was way too sweet."
  • "The kids pizza was also tasteless."
  • "The quality of the food was indifferent. The sausages were under cooked and the toast was not browned."
  • "The food was very poor. We ordered 2 medium t-bone steaks - both were burnt in some areas, and raw around bone."
  • "The food was sadly incredibly average for the price and setting."

Service

Pros:

  • "Great local pub, staff are always friendly, food is consistently good."
  • "The staff were excellent especially Naomi who helped put up the decorations and did the service."
  • "Ines was our waitress and she took great care of us."
  • "The restaurant manager and staff were so helpful with my Daughter who was, at the time, in a leg cast, such great service!"
  • "Staff couldn't have been more help or friendly."
  • "Staff were friendly and professional."
  • "Really excellent service (especially from our waiter Charlie who was super polite and enthusiastic and very clearly had a little crush on our dog and came to ask questions and pet him which was very lovely)."

Cons:

  • "From start to finish customer service poor."
  • "Service was hit and miss (we didn't get asked if we wanted more drinks at any point and the main courses took an age to arrive)."
  • "The worst service I have ever had at a restaurant."
  • "Speaking to staff and asking for anything seems like an unbearable burden has been asked of them."
  • "The big let down was the staff, they all seemed too interested in chatting to each other."
  • "Disappointing service. Unable to get basic orders correct, no apologies when they mess up."
  • "After initially approaching a member of the 'Team' asking for assistance, we were told to take a seat outside & someone would take our order. Fifteen minutes later we were still waiting."

Ambiance and Setting

Pros:

  • "One of my favourite local pubs. Love it here in the summer. Perfect large garden with outdoor burger shack."
  • "A beautiful building which hosts a large garden to the rear with children's playground, outdoor bar and grill and a lot of seating."
  • "Beautiful and tranquil place to visit."
  • "What a perfect pub this is. The location and setting is beautiful, as is the pub itself which have been maintained and furnished to a very high standard."
  • "An amazing pub with beautiful surroundings, with a large free car park."
  • "An absolute beautiful setting, such an amazing set up with both inside and outside dining."
  • "Pretty pub in a picturesque location on the edge of an actual vineyard."

Cons:

  • "Biggest disappointment was the car park. The normal car park is reasonable with some spaces for EV charging and limited lighting - however the overflow parking is massive but pitched black with no lighting - very dangerous."
  • "I was given beer with gluten in when I made it clear I was strictly gluten free (on medical grounds) and have since been quite poorly would suggest anybody using this pub check's what they are consuming."
  • "Sadly there’s a clear training gap when it comes to dealing with food intolerances and allergies."
  • "Would have preferred a pet-free venue, but dog owners kept their animals under control fortunately."
  • "The outside garden is great and occasionally the outside bar is open too."
  • "Accomodation was clean and well appointed but the spiral staircases not suitable for less mobile."
  • "Such a shame the fact that the bedroom is only accessible via a spiral staircase."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The bar shack menu is very reasonably priced."
  • "I'd give this place 10 stars great price, we would definitely come back."
  • "All in all, a reasonable price."
  • "The prices are good and the restaurant was still running the 'Eat out to help out' promotion so the final bill worked out extremely cheap."
  • "Freindly staff and not too pricey."
  • "Their Pizzas are sublime and they often have an offer on that makes for excellent value given the setting and the quality of the food and service."
  • "Plentiful parking seals the deal!"

Cons:

  • "Excellent food though slightly pricey and a discretionary service charge is added to all bills."
  • "The thing that really got us was the 12.5% mandatory service charge."
  • "Massively overpriced and massively underwhelming food all served by surly and rude staff."
  • "Over priced. Slow service."
  • "The prices. Extremely expensive and not good value for money."
  • "VERY Expensive for very border line average quilty, regards food and drink."
  • "Shockingly over-priced. For example, £6.50 for 2 minuscule chicken wings."
