Ambiance and Cleanliness
Pros:
"The signal box was very clean with lots of space and plenty of tables."
"Lovely cafe, plenty of seating and it was very clean considering the number of people in and out."
"A fine station pub! The Signal Box is a large, modern, busy London rail station pub, upstairs at Euston station."
Cons:
"Tables were dirty. We then asked another waitress who led us to another dirty table."
"It was a little dirty, but the terrible quality of the food took my mind off it."
"Obviously quiet due to covid half the pub was closed off cant think why.. The more open space between tables the safer it would be. Toilets out of order. The place vould do with a good clean filthy and very dusty."
Service
Pros:
"Our server this evening was Niki - what a brilliant job he did managing the customers and staff at an extremely busy time."
"Very friendly chefs and thank you to Barbara for looking after us."
"We stopped in at the euston pub while we were waiting for a train just had a bowl of chips and some drinks but had to leave a review as our waiter was such a pleasure! Santi was friendly funny and attentive."
Cons:
"The service was the worst I've seen in years. Out of the 5 servers that were involved with our table, only one knew what she was doing."
"The staff are polite and the service is incredibly quick even on a weekend night, which is just what one needs when in a hurry. Bonus points as well for the excellent wifi."
"The service wasn't very pleasant from the young white female bartender."
Food Quality
Pros:
"First class breakfast, exactly what we wanted, even though it wasn't on the menu. Veggie sausage and egg toasted muffins. Best veggie sausage I've ever tasted."
"Lovely food, good portions and the waiter gave us our coffee’s on the house due to them not arriving before our meal."
"I had the Hackney Burger with triple cooked chips, a pint of London Pride followed by apple and blackberry crimble crumble. A great meal after a day at the Comic Con at London Excel."
Cons:
"Full English breakfast for £15.50, must be worth it right! Wrong, some bacon fat slithers, cold (really cold) beans, hash browns and tomato, the sausage was the only 'warm' bit."
"The food was very poor. The bacon was mainly fat, and was dried out. The toast was rock solid and the scrambled eggs had a skin in them from sitting under the hot plate."
"The menu on the front door is different than the menu on the table and the waitress didn't understand English clear enough to understand what we were saying. She just kept pointing at the menu and saying here is menu, here is menu!"
Value for Money
Pros:
"The prices were quite reasonable for a service place."
"Lovely cafe, a little pricy but that might be my lack of experience with London prices, however the quality and flavour were certainly worth it."
"Food was good (great for a train station)! Price was high (normal for a train station) we were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff."
Cons:
"I had been overseas for a week and looked forward to a good beer. Unfortunately, I didn't get that here despite the £5.95 price for a pint of London Pride."
"What a waste of money. Paying £15 for a pie a NOT HOME MADE PIE and £13 for a fishcakes A NOT HOME MADE FISH CAKE."
"It’s in the station so it’s noisy and pricy… but the service was very pleasant and the burger and chips were genuinely the best we have had in a long time!"
