Accessibility
Pros:
"Most areas are fairly easily accessible to disabled people and there are a couple of designated parking bays."
"It was helpful for me in a wheelchair because I had people with me."
"Pram wheelchair accessible for the path route however there is option to go off that path and is probably better with baby in a carrier if you want a longer walk."
"It's so close to bus routes, so is very convenient."
Cons:
"The park, for the most part, is wild and little has been done to allow ease of access for the casual walker."
"They need to sort the pathing out even at the back around the walk trails they are just huge mud pits and swampy puddles."
"Be sure to wear appropriate footwear as the paths by the river can be a little bit treacherous."
"Only down side which takes away one of the stars is the amount of dog poo on some of the paths."
Facilities
Pros:
"Small cafe on site if you want to spend a while there and have a brew and a sandwich."
"Toilets are clean enough and the volunteers in the shop are very friendly - as were pretty much all of the visitors that we met."
"There is a cafe and toilets, but check when they're open."
"Visitors centre has information about its history with old photos of what used to be there and also sells hot and cold food and drink."
Cons:
"Food is fine, they could use more toilet facilities."
"The facilities could be better though. Not enough bins and I couldn't see any toilets there which is a shame."
"Could have been a bit cleaner (tubs with the feed in, toilets and pumpkin space)."
"I couldn't find a bathroom and the only snacks we found was an ice cream truck."
Family & Children Activities
Pros:
"Such a friendly farm with a good selection of animals. Amazing outdoor play facilities."
"It is reasonably priced and the Children can interact with all the animals, grooming ponies, feeding carrots to the animals and holding and petting the small animals."
"Brilliant few hours spent with my 2 grandchildren ages 6 and 8. Good value for money, unlike Chester zoo the week before at almost £100! We had a much better time at Reddish Vale Farm feeding the animals. We enjoyed the tractor ride too and the adventure playground."
"Great day out for the kids. Animals to feed, small animals to hold and a great play area with zip line, inflatable pillows, climbing frames, swings etc."
Cons:
"Lovely and clean and few animals and a park, but after that not a lot. Went for the pumpkin picking. Far too overcrowded."
"But that is it. I thought there would be more animals or another section to the farm."
"We had to pay extra for carrots, tractor ride, rides, which does add up to quite a bit."
"Very nice place a beautiful day out but it's too expensive, £ 42.50 for the circus event it's not worth it."
Nature & Wildlife
Pros:
"It is a beautiful park that is suitable for walking, as well as for sitting and seeing a swamp that is full of ducks and geese."
"Gardens of interest and wildlife all around."
"Great place to walk the dog with lovely wooded areas and a river running through it."
"Beautiful waterfall surrounded by a nature forest and the cutest swing free parking available close by best to go though the weekday and comfort shoes ideal great for family walks not too difficult either!"
Cons:
"Please respect the area, I have seen plastic bottles been thrown in the area when bins are close."
"The only reason I'm not giving it 5* is because it could have more wardens or volunteers patrolling to keep an eye on the people who spoil it by dropping litter."
"Only thing that bugs me is how filthy you get walking around it."
"The tracks when we went were muddy, me being me wore trainers, black and white, when I came out they were brown lol and can we all guess who said to me grinning from ear to ear ' I told you to put your wellies on'....... that's right the wife."
Parking & Accessibility
Pros:
"Good parking with plenty of spaces except at the busiest of times."
"There is some parking in the visitors centre, I think there is about 10 car spaces for visitors. Parking is free and plenty of parking in the surrounding area where it is then only a short walk to the park."
"Unfortunately the car park is really small so was really lucky to get a spot."
Cons:
"The only thing is parking was a bit problematic."
"Parking will be full even if its not a sunny, weekend day."
"We walked there because we wanted a good walk out together however, lots of people arrived in cars meaning the lanes and the car park were very congested. This ruined the freedom a little which was a shame."
