Cons:

  • "The food was alright nothing special at a RIP off at 17.50 for fish and chips."
  • "But tbh, steak is not quite good. I asked for the medium rare but it’s almost dried out and burnt!"
  • "The majority of the main was burnt except for the beef which was nearly raw in the middle."
  • "The food which was average, under seasoned and watery."
  • "Seam bream was served with olives which over powered the fish. Sides were disappointing."
  • "The roast was awful, the potatoes were leathery and hard, the crackling was soft and the bowls of boiled veg were a massive cop out."

  • "The staff are clearly in need of professional training and would not be hired at a more professional establishment."
  • "You've had too much said the man in charge, which we had 3 pints with a very nice meal up the road. Then the manner in which he spoke to his staff would explain why the bar is empty!"

Atmosphere & Location

Pros:

  • "Its location and view is just as pleasant."
  • "Old characterful pub with 1st floor restaurant overlooking Broadstairs beach."
  • "It's a great place to go for a special occasion too, the view is of Viking bay beach so it is picturesque!"

  • "Sat with stunning views over the beach."
  • "In a beautiful location in Broadstairs right on the seafront and you have great views looking out from the pub."

Cons:

  • "The worst part was never got asked at the end of the meal if the food was OK, so like an idiot we just payed and left."
  • "Only knocking off one star because we weren't able to order from the more extensive restaurant menu upstairs because they were too busy."
  • "Unfortunately if you like dining with a lot of space between you and the next table this may not be the place for you."
  • "This area is a tourist trap though so people are paying through the roof for what you get."
  • "The only thing that lets this lovely place down is the MANAGER as soon as you walk through the door he pounces on you even before you sit down."
  • "A bit of a muddle & wait whilst waiting for the bill, nearly exceeded our parking time."
  • "Not once during the evening were we asked about the food which was average, under seasoned and watery."

  • "All in all we had a tasty and excellent meal which was very reasonably priced."

Cons:

  • "The only thing that bothered me was the price, but I guess I'm just used to lower prices from my region."
  • "If the food wasn't so expensive I'd if given it 3*."
  • "Only thing you could say is slightly on the pricey side (£80 for 3 courses for two people) but for the quality of food and service delivered it was well worth it."
