Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The main courses were superb, half spiced chicken, Ribeye steak, and chicken, bacon and leek pie and substantial portions to satisfy most appetites."
  • "Nachos were very good and the kids portion was great value for money."
  • "They were both absolutely delicious. The best meal I have had in ages."
  • "The most amazing Thai food (especially the chicken wings!)"
  • "The food was gorgeous and well presented."
  • "The Sunday roast was delicious and well presented."
  • "Probably the nicest belly pork that I have had in a long time."

Cons:

  • "They got our order mixed up and it was bland, the chicken was burned at the bottom literally black."
  • "The burger however was terrible. Dry and well done to a crisp."
  • "The chow mein was sweeter than a bowl of honey, golden syrup and sugar??????"
  • "Chips served with the pie however were a disaster. Strong taste of fish (I guess coming from the oil) and a mosquito inside."
  • "All in all, the food was bland and there are better places for a Sunday roast."
  • "Food was not very good. Overcooked burger and burnt bun."
  • "The 8 hour slow roasted beef was so tough you could hardly cut it!"

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff were super friendly."
  • "Great service from the staff who were very efficient and friendly."
  • "Staff always in good spirits which says a lot about the way it's run."
  • "The service was exceptional."

Cons:

  • "Just not looked after at all."
  • "Further frustration when speaking to the manager that evening we were told the service was acceptable, I reiterate it wasn't."
  • "Bit slow to take orders."
  • "Service was very slow waitress did not know what a half of larger shandy was so when it came it was a pint of larger shandy."
  • "Being asked the settle the bill and vacate the table as there were others waiting, my son had too leave half a pint just to accommodate their request."
  • "Sunday roast... our experience got off to a bad start with what appeared to be a manager, walking away from us on the phone as it rang while she was checking us to our table."
  • "Service was pleasant but got slower towards the end of our meal."

Ambience

Pros:

Cons:

  • "Don’t like the 'brighter' side which is past the bar on other side of building. Have eaten on that side before and the atmosphere is not quite right."
  • "What let’s this place down is the cleanliness."
  • "If you look under the table and chair legs, even babies high chairs are thick with food and grime."
  • "No comfy sofas anymore which were nice to chill out on if popping in for a drink."
  • "We had a room for our group but there was a big glassless window through to the bar with people stood leaning on the frame in the gap with their drinks - it was a bit weird!"
  • "Customer services had appeared to have gone out of the window, staff had to be asked to clear the plates, and then we had to remind them to bring out the main course."
  • "What is the point of having a closing time on a Sunday night when you are met with we have called last orders."

  • "A little expensive but good value for money."
  • "Food was average for the price paid and they forgot the sweet potato fries for one order, which then came after we'd finished the meal."
  • "Also when ordering a pint of apple juice you don't expect to be charged £6.80 odd because its 2 small bottles."
