Park Environment

Pros:

• "Wonderful park and enjoy the walk through to forge dam where there is the best cafe ever."

• "There are adventure playgrounds at either end plus cafes, toilets, and a small fairground."

• "Also Well suited for disabled who require moving around with their mobility scooter."

Cons:

• "Public toilets need updating though!"
• "Parking can be an issue when its busy... otherwise a very big park that holds events in summer."

• "Only downfall is parking isn't great. Most places may and display but could park up one of the sideboards opposite for free (if you can find a space)."

• "There's a little broken glass around the edges of the park so can't let little ones go free range just because they're in the park."

Pros:

• "The USAAF B17 Flying Fortress 'Mi Amigo' crash of 1944 is commemorated with a nice memorial in the woodland area just behind the café."
• "Visited the memorial for the B17 'mi amigo'. Well kept and respectful of the 10 strong crew who gave their lives."
• "Was nice to see the memorial to the Mi Amigo - Tony's 10 which had been on the TV recently."
• "Don't miss the beautifully maintained memorial for the WW2 plane crash of the American Mi Amigo flight."
• "There is also a lovely little memorial to the USAF plane that crashed there during WWII."
• "Came here along with thousands of others to witness a flypast of American planes to honour the lives of the ten airmen who lost their lives when their plane came down in the woods during the 2nd world war. What a wonderful tribute."

• "Can be very busy though so beware, as around the cafe, paths, field, and playground there's not much distancing room."
• "But if you're wanting some peace and quiet, this isn't the place for you!"
• "Generally a nice park, but can be a bit of a battle between families with kids, cyclists and dog walkers."
• "Too much open space, excellent dogs. My comrade saw a group of lads playing 'spike ball'. Since she had been wanting to try this game for a while, after 10 mins she worked up the courage to go ask if she could join, regrettably they declined, saying it was a 'very serious game'. Alienating group of people, but not sure what I feel the park should do about it."
• "It loses one star due to most dog owners allowing their dogs to run around and up to small children."
• "However it is very muddy off the main path and has suffered catastrophic loss of greenery because of excessive rain. Mud is prevalent."
