Parking

Pros:

  • "You'll notice there is a lot of parking, and they are all conveniently placed so it's easy to enter."
  • "Plenty of parking available, clean premises, and as a bonus they were showing the cricket on the big screen!"
  • "Plenty of options to choose from when it comes to getting food. Quite a lot of parking but I noticed a lot of larger vehicles in normal car parking bays which meant that they either took up two spaces or stuck out into the driving lane."
  • "Always busy, but good selection in food court. Disabled spaces not enforced at all. Really struggled to get from a space miles away."
  • "One stop for all kinds of food, traditional pasties, KFC, McDonald's, and with the Hope & Champion public house next door you may be tempted to stay the night at the onside Hotel.....Absolutely fantastic. Yes, this the way all Service stations should be."
  • "Good services, has everything you could need. There are toilets of course as you’d expect. There’s a small M&S, McDonald’s, KFC, Nando’s, Pizza Express, and Greggs too which is always a bonus as some Services Stations can get pricey for a coffee and a sandwich. There is a WHSmiths and a Starbucks as well as a Wetherspoons."

Cons:

  • "Parking can be hard to find because it's so busy and the car park isn't that big."
  • "It was on the way home from Hyde Park Concert, past 12 and needed a stop. Coffee, sandwich, with a large cold drink. Really grateful to the staff who work after midnight. Without them there wouldn't be any service."
  • "The signs directing caravans and motorhomes to the designated parking area are hopelessly inadequate. Cars were parked in spaces reserved for caravans and motorhomes making problems for larger vehicles, cars can park anywhere. Main problem is that there is no enforcement - otherwise it's just a motorway service area."
  • "I'll never return. We got stuck in traffic in the car park for an hour due to an incredibly bad layout. No staff assisted to try and relive the traffic at all, despite an announcement to say they would."
  • "Always extremely busy when we have stopped here. If you want food that hasn't been slapped together in a rush I'd suggest giving yourself some extra time to eat in the Wetherspoons rather than the McDonald's here."
  • "Poorest takeaway ever, KFC was horrid, my wife had to get a meal for my daughter from McDonald's. KFC chicken and chips were not fresh, chips were soggy, chicken was not good at all, we threw most of it in the bin. absolutely appalling."

Food Options

Pros:

  • "Inside is a good sized food hall, with lots of variety! The best I've ever seen! It was busy, but no queues."
  • "Really nice services. I've only been here a couple of times but it's always been a better-than-expected experience. There's nice toilets, a really good range of different food and although it's more expensive than the high street it's not a rip off."
  • "Lots of places to eat. Can get very busy and there can be very long queues. Nice outside seating area not many people were outside when I visited as it was fairly cold."
  • "What a fantastic discovery! This is probably one of the best service stations I've visited. Great location and a wide selection of different restaurants to eat in."
  • "For a motorway service station, this was surprisingly full of amenities rather than just the typical fast food facilities. It felt more like a shopping mall and was pleasantly clean throughout."
  • "What a place, not only does this place hit the jackpot with a McDonald's and a KFC it also has a Wetherspoons!"
  • "As service stations go, this is one of the better ones! Good selection of food venues. There is a small grassland area at the back with a pond and path to walk around. Useful when travelling with the dog."
  • "Wow wow wow where do I even begin. This place is amazing, I don’t even come here for fuel, it’s literally just got everything you need. The Wetherspoons is very good and also a cheap spoons. The Nando's staff here are one of the friendliest I’ve ever met and the McDonald's is pretty quick."

Cons:

  • "I had the worst Subway out of any I have had from any other country around the world! A sprinkle of meat that didn't even cover the bottom of the bread and hardly any cheese...asked for jalapeños, and she gave me olives. The shops had warm water, and the ladies' toilets weren't very clean."
  • "I wish I could give a -5 stars! I have never been so happy to walk out of a services. The toilets are vile! I can’t believe how people think it’s okay to put excrement on toilet seats!! Most of the cubicles are not clean and the cleaning staff seem to be nonexistent."
  • "Probably one of the most busy service stations anytime of day. It's a typical service station, with fast food (McDonald's, KFC, Leon, Starbucks etc) and an M&S, so don't expect anything else. It's cold inside in the winter, leave your coat on."
  • "Plenty of food options, but mostly your average, run of the mill, chains like McDonald's, KFC etc. Pretty tedious to be honest. Went to Nando's but was told by staff that it WASN'T halal, then went to Tapori (which is halal) but didn't fancy it, ended up plumping for a cold, overpriced, bland, chewy Greggs margarette pizza slice+a cookie+a bottle of water for approximately £5. Not worth it, and won't be doing it again."
  • "The parking lot is fine, the toilets are relatively well-kept and clean. There are a lot of parking spaces after 4 p.m. Unfortunately, zero stars for the price. 38 pounds and nothing for the driver. I don't recommend it, I won't make a long pause here again."
