Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Honestly this was the best food I've had in a long time."
  • "Food was extraordinary it’s vegan but you feel like you’re eating actually meat that’s how incredible food is."
  • "Fabulous food as always."
  • "All the portions were generous and extremely tasty."
  • "Everything was incredible: artichoke ceasar, soba noodles and amba chick'n."
  • "The food here is just superb."
  • "The food was the best I have tasted for a very long time. The quality and presentation was 10/10."

Cons:

  • "The food was good but not enough to justify the prices."
  • "I had the leek gnocchi and it was quite bland, it was very disappointing."
  • "The halloumi burger was a little light on halloumi for my taste."
  • "The kuftas were not as good and were just grates carrots mashed together, I didn't enjoy this dish as much."
  • "The food was well made and presented... All 3 of us has the Ruben and only one liked it."
  • "Food was disgusting. I left most of mine. My colleague has been feeling sick with a stomach ache after eating the vegan pork."
  • "Visited Mildreds on a Saturday afternoon and, as with everywhere in Camden, it was very busy. I decided to try the pulled pok burger, but unfortunately it really wasn't to my taste."

Service

Pros:

  • "Nice, airy layout with friendly, knowledgeable, helpful service."
  • "Service always friendly & efficient."
  • "The staff are super friendly."
  • "The staff were incredibly friendly and professional."
  • "The service was just excellent, everyone was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed."
  • "The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive."
  • "The service was amazing."

Cons:

  • "Asked for some ice for the drinks and it seemed a problem."
  • "However, the staff kept trying to sell us extras that we did not want."
  • "The only bad thing that we could think of is that service is a little bit slow and on several occasions we had to wait for the bill for about 15 minutes."
  • "It is difficult to get the attention of staff - maybe they were short staffed due to covid, but still very friendly."
  • "But the staff repeatedly lied to our faces about us ‘only having 1.5h because the table was booked after’."
  • "The service was really really slow, our male server seemed to want to spend his time chatting to a table of admittedly glamorous young men than bother with 2 older women at the next table."
  • "They also did not give adequate time to look at menu. I would say I wasn't ready and they'd give it a whole of two mins before coming over again."

Ambience

Pros:

  • "Mildreds had a very modern and sophisticated aesthetic, with an open bar and waitors who contributed to the stylish feel."
  • "The restaurant decoration is nice, large windows allows the light to come in."
  • "This branch has a great vibe & friendly staff."
  • "Definitely not a quiet restaurant as it was very busy but the music they played was not too loud and was very relaxing lo fi type stuff so I'm sure at off peak times this place would be quiet and peaceful."
  • "The whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming."
  • "An airy and bright atmosphere with fantastic vegan fare."
  • "The ambience in the restaurant is lovely, dimly lit with candles."

Cons:

  • "The interior design is a bit too bland. Very vegan restaurant-y."
  • "The seating is also way too cramped up together - they also sat people really close together when there were other spaces that were free."
  • "The dinner room was very loud, felt quite hectic and the tables seemed very crammed in."
  • "Way too loud and noisy for us because we couldn't talk properly and I almost had to shout a little."
  • "The #1 reason for the four stars instead of the 5 is because they apparently allow lets in the restaurant 😬"
  • "The only downside is the staff or waitress we had who seemed quite snappy and miserable."
  • "WARNING if you have a booking and one of the party has not yet arrived under no circumstances will you be seated."

Value

Pros:

  • "Still everything was good and very reasonably priced."
  • "Three mains, three large sides, three puds, several coffees were £80 with service (which is fine for a nice, large lunch in London we figured)."
  • "Portion sizes are large-ish and cost is not too high."
  • "Prices were lower than I’d of thought and the portion sizes were great. I cannot recommend enough!"
  • "Meals taste fresh, portions are filling and I like the presentation as well. Prices are reasonable."
  • "This is well-priced, slightly fancy, good vegan food with a fun variety of flavours."
  • "I was really impressed with the flavourings and I didn’t think considering we are in London it was that badly priced."

Cons:

  • "Good portion sizes, if slightly overpriced."
  • "The portion sizes for £27.57 for a salad and the smallest side chips which cost £5.50 is not value for money."
  • "Also the gluten free bread was tiny. It was like two slices of postage stamp. It cost £3! It was ridiculous."
  • "I think slightly overpriced."
  • "Drinks (including wine) too sweet (merlot)."
  • "Food was lovely..... Bit expensive but to be expected, it's Camden."
  • "The quality of the food is much lower and the prices are higher."
