Cons:

  • "Used this for a stopgap coming back from the beach...we sat down with no menu at first as a phonecall was more important."

  • "Arrived with no reservation was seated given menus and left for five minutes. No drink order taken."
  • "On entering we were greeted with a smile and a professional manner, once seated we were seen to in very good time, the recommendations from the waitress were excellent and she was not wrong about the onion bhajis these are monsters, 2 is a portion but one is more than enough for one person the size did not detract from the taste they were delicious."

Ambiance and Location

Pros:

  • "Tap & Tandoor is an Indian establishment in the city centre of Peterborough, next to Cathedral Square."
  • "The atmosphere is laid back & it's always clean."
  • "The restaurant itself had lovely decor and a great laid-back vibe."
  • "The ambience was good, the food was really tasty and the servers warm and helpful."
  • "Cosy, yet modern. Exciting food, but not polarising."
  • "Lovely restaurant... The tandoors were slightly salty, but manageable."
  • "Modern British Indian cuisine, with a decent list of beers, served in a sports pub atmosphere, in a heritage building on Peterborough's Cathedral square."
  • "Great atmosphere combining the best of a pub and a restaurant, with good food and service at a fair price."

Cons:

  • "A few negatives though. Firstly, I don't at all understand why they have sky sports showing in the main restaurant, there's no reason for it to be there at all, and it only detracts from the atmosphere."
  • "Not kids friendly.I have been there last night with friends and kids but dont like the behaviour of staff as they were not looking happy to see the kids."
  • "Parking is a problem. You might need to park a bit distance from the restaurant."
  • "Perhaps have separate entrance for the rest part as people who book or go in on off chance for meal have to walk through bar part and lots of old pissed up men watching football in there can be quite daunting walking past them just to get to table."
