Location and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The restaurant is located in city centre which is convenient."
  • "Such a nice place. Stopped by here for afternoon tea after roaming the city. It overlooks the main square."
  • "Lovely restaurant. If you get a seat by the window you can enjoy a wonderful view of the main Coventry’s square with skating rink and Christmas market."
  • "The location is very good."
  • "Cosy, pretty place with delicious food."

Cons:

  • "The location is very good, but the service can be improved maybe with some training because the girl seemed quite not understanding what we were asking for."
  • "Atmosphere is warm, the view if you sitting outside is great, service is good! However food is a bit disappointing."

Service

Pros:

  • "Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Attentive staff and helpful service."
  • "Service was good, and thank you to George for the hospitality."
  • "Had lunch on a busy Saturday. Everything was great, especially the service."
  • "Food was tasty and the service was excellent. Alina was our server and she made sure we had a great meal."
  • "Good pricing list, nice atmosphere. Annie who served us was nice, warm, and offering different courses."

Cons:

  • "Service was decent. They forgot about my coffee and I had to flag the staff down to ask for it."
  • "The bread we got was nearly too hard to eat. And the sea bass was completely inedible, the new potatoes weren’t even cooked (still hard)."
  • "Waited 15 mins for a jug of water."
  • "The service was rude and racist. Even on empty seats, they didn't give us a table on Christmas day."
  • "Waitresses seemed confused, and we waited more than 35 minutes for them to notice us, while they were staring at tablets."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was excellent, fresh, and very tasty."
  • "First time to Bistrot Pierre the food was lovely I had the camembert to start, the plum and ginger chutney was very tasty!"
  • "Had the 7oz fillet and couldn’t fault it."
  • "Beef bourguignon was exquisite. The beef was tender, the red wine sauce had just the right level of thickness."
  • "The liver parfait was average, my burger was bad, the steak was simply average."

Cons:

  • "Atmosphere is warm, the view if you sitting outside is great, service is good! However food is a bit disappointing, two prawns did not be cleaned properly, strong stinky iron flavour was tasted."
  • "The scallops were a bit of a let down as they didn't look all the way cooked or rather lacking evidence of being seared properly."
  • "I ordered a fondue which usually comes with melted cheese but as you can see in the picture it was more like a soup and I did not like it, the taste was also not so strong."
  • "Food good quality but poor quantity. The calamari starter only 5 pieces of calamari and the beef bourgignon off main menu only had 3 pieces of beef and was lukewarm."
  • "French onion soup with the saddest 'crouton' floating on peppery brown water and really quite unpleasantly stringy boeuf bourguignon in a grey gravy."
