Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "The keepers were also very friendly and informative."
  • "From the moment we entered the staff were super friendly."
  • "The staff here were fantastic, coffee was amazing."
  • "Staffs and members are very friendly and co-operative."
  • "All the staff were friendly and accommodating. And what a superb and informative talk given by a staff member in the lemur enclosure."
  • "The staff are super-friendly and very passionate and knowledgeable about their charges."
  • "The staff are very knowledgeable about the various animals they take care of and it was a great learning experience."

Cons:

  • "The booth wasn't manned, it was shut with no one around to advise."
  • "No staff to monitor what was happening, just one member of the staff to take care of kangaroo's space which is way to big for 1 member only."
  • "Lots of kids where touching, feeding and trying to grab the kangaroo's, completely unaware (as kids) that they were distressing the animals, no staff to monitor what was happening."

Animal Encounters

Pros:

  • "Such an interactive experience, you're so close to the animals and in many cases can walk with them, feed them and experience them close up."
  • "You are allowed to go inside the wallaby pen and feed them."
  • "The best thing about this place is that you can walk amongst most animals and may get to touch!"
  • "The walk through enclosures are amazing! To be in the field with the wallabies and walk through with the lemurs, you forget that the animals are actually enclosed."
  • "The wallaby feeding experience was fantastic and they are really used to humans - even a mother with a joey in her pouch didn't get aggressive or defensive when approached."
  • "The Wallaby Walkthrough is probably the best Wallaby Walkthrough in the UK as you can really get close to the Wallabies and also interact with them through feeding them to the point where you can touch and the Wallabies are not bothered by you being near them."
  • "The Wallaby walkthrough is fantastic and a must do. You can get up close to them, stroke them and feed them."

Cons:

  • "Everywhere was dirty and tired looking."
  • "The only thing I thought was a let down was the price of drinks. £2.35 for a can of coke."
  • "The animal cages were mouldy and the wood rotting in places."
  • "Unfortunately, this enclosure was closed 10 minutes early. Which was very disappointing our daughter was extremely upset."
  • "Unfortunately the lemurs were in their cage as the enclosure was being updated."
  • "The tiger environment is way to little for 2 tigers (in my opinion) it would be great if they can expand, the rhino's have plenty space so I don't see why the tigers have such a small space."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Reasonably priced for the half day we were there and we also enjoyed the fresh pizza and hot dogs for lunch."
  • "Ticket price for 2 adults was just under £40, having spent far more at other wildlife parks, these seemed very reasonable."
  • "Good price for entry."
  • "Cheaper than Folly Farm."
  • "The well-stocked cafe was clean and not overpriced."
  • "Entrance prices are good and we went outside of Wales half terms, so our little one got in for half price, which was a bonus."
  • "Prices are reasonable with a small but decent range of food and snacks."

Cons:

  • "Good day out here but it's not cheap."
  • "Extremely overpriced for what it is, essentially, a soft play."
  • "There is a nice restaurant & coffee shop, but it is not cheap."
  • "The only criticism was the cost of refreshments and the wallaby food."
  • "Food and drink again maybe a little pricey, but not outrageous."
  • "The food is pricey so I'd recommend taking your own food to save on money."
  • "The food is expensive but nice so definitely take your own or at least some snacks."

Facilities

Pros:

  • "There is also a children's indoor play area/ jungle gym, which is good for days where there may be a shower or two."
  • "There's a good cafe and clean toilets with decent baby changing facilities which makes a nice change."
  • "A fabulous out for picnic area, whilst the children play on the bouncy activity 'castle' and explore the 'dragons cave'."
  • "Easy to find, well signposted and big car park there so shouldn't ever be an issue finding a space."
  • "There are main toilets by the cafe but there are also very clean portaloos dotted everywhere which is really handy."
  • "Hand washing facilities some of the best seen so far."
  • "Restrooms and baby changing room Large parking area."
