Management and Staff
Pros:
"Owners here were lovely and very helpful."
"After a warm and informative welcome by the owner, Walter, we enjoyed 3 nights at this beautiful site."
"Walter and Lisa the owners are so nice, helpful and accommodating."
"On arrival we was greeted by Walter who was absolutely brilliant."
"Big thank you to Walter the site owner for all the restaurant suggestions and helpful info he gave us."
"The owners Walter and Lisa are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble."
"Walter was very helpful when needed, will defo go back."
"Walter & Lisa was very welcoming & friendly. There is nothing we could fault."
Cons:
"Dislike is perhaps too strong, but after travelling to a site we prefer to have a bit of calm whilst we get ourselves sorted. The owner (Walter) is very helpful and informative, but tried to give us lots of info - verbally - as soon as we arrived and it was all too much to take in."
Facilities and Cleanliness
Pros:
"Amenities were exceptionally clean at all times."
"The grounds are immaculate. Toilets and showers immaculate and modern."
"This site was just perfect. Grounds were immaculate, showers the cleanest I’ve ever seen."
"The site is an absolute credit to their devotion with the grounds, toilets and all services kept immaculate."
"Immaculate site, friendly welcome - clear that Walter and Lisa take great pride in the service they provide."
"Everything kept in pristine condition, so much hard work goes into exceptional level of detail."
"The facilities were spotless, a very warm welcome very friendly."
"The site was well kept and Walter never stops his work on it."
Cons:
"No grey waste disposal point. Showers lacked clothes hanging area and felt exposed also 20p per minute-on top of £35 per night!"
"Having to pay for a shower, 20p per minute and no shelf or anything to put stuff on while showering."
"The only thing I struggled with was the showers, far to small and not private enough but was doable."
"Sorry but shower block set-up didnt work for us as there is a privacy and security problem (leaving property outside of the cubicles)."
"The only criticism is the lack of changing area after showering. The showers were nice clean and hot, but once shower had finished there was nowhere to store dry clean clothes or to dry off in private."
"Very small pitches. Busy main road which made it very noisy onsite. Shower block no good to man n beast. No privacy in shower room."
"The showers/toilets were also immaculate and even the Elsan point was very clean indeed. Showers are 20p minute."
"Although very neat, tidy and clean, the electric hookup is metered, the showers you have to pay for, 20p a minute and no private space to undress etc."
Location and Accessibility
Pros:
"In terms of location it sits nicely between Clitheroe and Preston."
"This site is a great location for a peaceful retreat or exploring the nearby towns."
"The town of Clitheroe was 30 minutes on bus and worth a visit."
"Lovely views. The road noise at front never bothered us."
"We also enjoyed the beautiful village of Whalley which had a few pubs, high class shops and a lovely abbey."
"Very handy for M6, and easy to find as on main road. Italian restaurant within a few yards."
"The location of the site is fantastic, lovely walks along the River Ribble in walking distance or a short drive."
"Liked: Immaculate, well maintained site Friendly welcome and advice Support when things didn’t quite go as planned Handy for two great takeaways Easily accessible - not too far from the M6 and on a main route but not troubled by road noise."
Cons:
"Position is too near busy main road for peace and quiet..Electric hook up and Showers on meter."
"There are no walks accessible directly from the site, the only one being a few hundred yards along the busy main road."
"So sorry but the traffic noise was bad and it was also all night."
"Very close to a busy road and nowhere to walk/exercise our dog."
"Disliked: Location, yes it's local for us, yes it's just a bus ride into Clitheroe, but there's actually nothing round it really and it's on a main road."
"The only signage for the site was at the entrance on what is a busy road. An advance warning sign would be an advantage."
"Its located right next to the A59 which makes it easy to find although the site could do with a sign just before the entrance as I overshot and had to turn round further up the road."
"Mainly noise from A59 it's a 60 but constant traffic and motorcycle at the weekend."
Price and Value
Pros:
"Finally found a site we can visit on a monthly basis! Can’t wait for our next stay."
"The site benefits from a bus stop outside the side with a great bus service to Whalley and Clitheroe."
"Thank you very much and well done on such a beautiful site."
"Everything about it was great! The shower and toilet blocks are superb, the showers are fabulous and really high pressure!"
"Stayed for two nights and found a very well kept and maintained site."
"This was our second visit and I will definitely book again in the near future."
"Want to say a huge thank you to Walter and Lisa for a beautiful site. Nice and peaceful very clean well kept."
"Liked: Immaculate, well maintained site, bus stop very close for Clitheroe etc."
Cons:
"The electric is not included which was metered and you need to bare in mind additional cost for showers so at £30 night it's a tad expensive."
"The only downside to our stay was the typically British rainy weather."
"Very close to a busy road and nowhere to walk/exercise our dog. Also had to pay for showers after paying £35 per night. Not good value for money as it wasn’t within walking distance to anywhere."
"Although very neat, tidy and clean, the electric hookup is metered, the showers you have to pay for, 20p a minute."
"Sorry but shower block set-up didnt work for us as there is a privacy and security problem (leaving property outside of the cubicles). Notes when booking does mention 20p charge for the use of the showers but that only gets you 1 minute."
"The only dislikes at all were having to pay for the shower and there being no bin at the washing up area."
"The only thing I struggled with was the showers, far to small and not private enough but was doable. Electric hook-up and showers are on a meter."
"Disliked: Very close to a busy road and nowhere to walk/exercise our dog. Also had to pay for showers after paying £35 per night."
