Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The meat and veg is fresh and soft and tender."
  • "The vegetables in each meal are crisp and crunchy and fresh and compliment the meat perfectly."
  • "The ramen was the best I've ever had! I've tried a few, but this was the best! Ever!"
  • "Food was brilliant, ribs and prawn toast some of the best I have tasted."
  • "Steamed bun was delicious, one portion of prawn crackers would feed 5000."
  • "Very tasty, really enjoy the meaty broth and the duck was stunning."
  • "Delicious food, all made from fresh ingredients, very big portions with plenty of meat."
  • "Seriously one of the nicest Asian restaurants in Liverpool."

Cons:

  • "Katsu Curry Chicken is awful, gritty, salty and the Chicken is like the sole of someone's shoe."
  • "The food was very bland, all the dishes we ordered tasted literally the same."
  • "Worst offender, however, was the duck gyoza: it was greasy as heck and had an awful after taste of oil."
  • "Chicken was raw. Still running around on the table with us."
  • "My meal came on it's own before the starters..and my partner had to sit there waiting...its not authentic at all."
  • "The salt and pepper dishes were disgustingly salty; it was as if they were pre cooked meats and then rolled in excessive amounts of salt."
  • "Got a take away from here and can only be described as bland tasting food."
  • "Awful food is basically buffet ready in pots soon as u order its plonked in front of you not freshly cooked was minimal protein disappointing."

Service

Pros:

  • "Great service in Maggie's very welcoming."
  • "Everyone working there was really helpful, will be back to try more different dishes."
  • "Brought my mum for some food last week and was served by the lovely saskia. She served with a smile on her face."

  • "The waiters are really welcoming and friendly."
  • "Staff were very helpful explaining the menu which was a choice of starters, big bowls, ramen choice soups and a selection of meat choices with rice/noodles etc..."
  • "Just had a quick meal on the way to the theatre. Rachel was just devine. Food fabulous."

Cons:

  • "Poor service when dining in, considering the price you pay for the food you’d at least like what you’ve ordered to come to your table and not the table next to you."
  • "Shame about experience. Food was amazing as always but the service was very poor. Food was slid across the table at us and drinks were literally slammed down."
  • "The food was bland, had to stand for half hour for table as they wouldn't let us book and come back."
  • "I've wanted to try Maggie fu's for a while and I've got to say I was disappointed...on 2 occasions 2 different waitresses tried to take our plates whilst we were still eating."
  • "Had to go to the tavern across the road. Wait wasn’t too long but there is no where to stand besides the small bar area which makes you feel like you are sitting on other customers laps."
  • "Service - not the staff's fault but you need to go up to the counter to order food and drinks. Sorry but is not this a restaurant?"
  • "Waited an hour and a half, arrived at the place, stood outside in the cold for 25 minutes."
  • "What restaurant does not do bookings in the 21st century? Once you get over that, you're then made to just stand outside for up 2 hours to wait for a table."
