Food Quality and Variety

Pros:

  • "Excellent… food was superb, generous portions and really great flavours."
  • "The stars of the night were undoubtedly the patatas bravas, cerdo a fuego lento, and the tortilla de patatas."
  • "Foods came all together quickly and each dish and drink was delicious!!!"
  • "Tasty Spanish tapas and lovely place! Beautifully presented food and we enjoyed it!"
  • "Absolutely fantastic restaurant in the heart of Bath. The atmosphere is lively and loud. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink. The food is outstanding!"
  • "A fantastic little pintxos restaurant near the centre of Bath. In the warmth of the late-September sunshine we sat in the 'sherry garden' and enjoyed a selection of delicious tapas."
  • "Great tapas. The crab croquetas were very good, the jamon croquetas (one of the specials) were very good, the chorizo croquetas were very good."
  • "A delicious selection of foods which are a good adaptation of the Spanish dishes for Britain's habits."

Cons:

  • "The food was pretty to look at but bland & dry and not proper temperature."
  • "One star reduced as I found it quite steep/pricey for the quantity you get, especially the artichoke dish (although nice), and mushroom croquettes."
  • "Food wasn’t the best. Tomato’s wasn’t very fresh, old smushed tomatoes on stale toast. Calamari was old and very chewy, didn’t taste fresh."
  • "Garlic Prawns (a tapas staple!) in particular were very disappointing - arriving halved and with shells on, a very small portion."
  • "However, I found the food pretty bland. Amongst other things I had the spinach and feta croquettes and they tasted of nothing."
  • "Tapas was not good, calamari is supposed to be soft to eat not chewy. Beetroot, sausage, mushroom, very disappointing, too much salt."
  • "A bit disappointing. This is a small Tapas bar at the centre of Bath. The selection of tapas was limited, some of the dishes expensive for what they were."
  • "The tortilla was tasteless the alioli was void of garlic. Don't waste your money."

Service and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "Service was spot on and pricing was in line with the quality."
  • "The service was excellent - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable."
  • "Really enjoyed this! Often hard to get a table at dinner, but great if you get there early for lunch. Really competent, authentic and yummy tapas. Lovely drinks menu too."
  • "The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent. We had a delightful afternoon despite the seagull incident (don't ask!) 😂 and will definitely visit again next time we are in Bath."
  • "Great service and really nice restaurant ambience."
  • "The wait staff was fabulous and the wine we selected was quite delicious."
  • "Friendly and quick service despite being full house, didn't really like our tapas."
  • "We have just eaten an amazing meal. The staff couldn’t do enough - especially as we had young children who had never eaten Spanish food."

Cons:

  • "I was then ignored by all 4 servers for 10 minutes until I asked who might be my server."
  • "I had the tomato on toast, panko squid rings and meatballs. Tomato’s wasn’t very fresh, old smushed tomatoes on stale toast. Calamari was old and very chewy."
  • "After being recommended by a friend who knows some of the (London based) owners. There was a lengthy wait to be seated, but it was understandable and well managed by the manager. Other staff, however, were not dealing well with other customers looking for a table."
  • "I love this place, the interior, ambience and staff are top notch. I was slightly disappointed with the food on this particular visit which is a shame."
  • "It's okay, the food was okay, the service was okay, but the staff doesn't know everything about the menu so if you have any dietary requirements you need to ask many times..."
  • "Sorry but any one who has been to Spain even in the cheapest of little cafeterias. This is not good. The tortilla was tasteless the alioli was void of garlic. Don't waste your money."
  • "Having lived in Spain for over 20 years in the nineties and noughties and been in numerous tapas bars I was looking forward to visiting Pintxo. What a disappointment, overpriced, poor quality food and staff more interested in talking to their boyfriend and getting us out the door than serving us."
  • "Visited on a Saturday night, restaurant was really busy but the staff managed to squeeze the 4 of us in. The food choice is really good, but the food itself was amazing."
