Food Quality
Pros:
"King of the carvery venues. A choice of 4x meats, 8x different vegetables, 3x different potatoes, 2x gravy, all piping hot & nicely cooked."
"Really lovely carvery. Am not usually a fan of carveries, but everything here was well cooked, hot and delicious."
"A typical pub style carvery with a massive car park straight off the motorway. The food is freshly cooked and on a buffet style self service."
"Food was absolutly banging and service was amazing. Special shout out to Becky for being super helpful, pleasant and a great member of the team."
"The food was not served until 12.35. The beef was very tough and uneatable."
"We ordered our meals and drinks through the app. Our drinks were sat on the bar for 10 minutes so we went and got them ourselves as the waitresses just ignored it."
"Menu was extremely limited due to staff being off with covid. We decided to give it a go and you could see straight away staff was struggling to keep up."
"Went here for the first time, I had a sirloin steak with a jacket potato instead of the usual chips. The steak was very juicy and the jacket potato was very soft and tasty."
Cons:
"However the carvery was very dry (roasts cold) and the apple sauce was tart."
"The roasts were good but the vegetables were over cooked. Our granddaughter could only get her third choice dessert."
"The carvery today, I must admit wasn't its best. The veg was already out and had gone cold."
"A fairly typical Carvery. The roasts were good but the vegetables were over cooked."
"The Wingfield Farm is an excellent Carvery. For such a large pub it is quite cozy as it is divided up into different rooms."
"We went with adult son and toddler grandson for dinner. Son ordvia App, x2 carveries, 1 sausage, chips and peas for grandson."
"Always busy. Did a takeout and the food was hot and served in a plate size take out tub.. however, the waiting time from going in to leaving for a takeout was 25mins."
"Menu was extremely limited due to staff being off with covid. We decided to give it a go and you could see straight away staff was struggling to keep up."
Service Quality
Pros:
"The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and so helpful."
"My partner and I have been going to Wingfields now every weekend for the past 5 months. Excellent food we can’t fault it. Breakfast and the carvery are fantastic and the staff are warm and friendly."
"We attended on a busy Saturday early evening, Staff were very helpful, friendly and very accommodating to the children in our party (7 adults and 2 3yr olds)."
"Just popped in enroute to destination. Never been before. Excellent carvery and delicious dessert. Service, kind. Helpful, Caring and professional staff."
"The Wingfield Farm is an excellent Carvery. For such a large pub it is quite cozy as it is divided up into different rooms."
"Food was very nice, staff were very pleasant and professional. They couldn’t do enough for us. We had a big party of 16 and nothing was to much trouble."
"My family went for breakfast it was wonderful the staff were amazing and polite the food was great we spoke to Sheila the GM who along with her staff that morning were very hospitable it's a wonderful place if you want a spot of breakfast."
"Sirloin steak was very fatty and full of gristle. After we finished eating and was finishing our drinks off one of the waitresses was constantly stood nearby staring at our table and it felt like she was wanting us to hurry up and leave so she could clear the table."
Cons:
"Considering their stand had a wide range of ice creams, every single one of them was out of stock."
"Unfortunately they never seem to have enough staff on to serve at the bar and take food orders, although the staff are friendly and helpful."
"The staff were brilliant when I complained. I must say this place I can't normally falter it. It the best for a carvery. Just today was a big let down."
"The surroundings are child friendly with a activity unit but don't expect them to eat much because there's plenty to do in the corner unless you seat more towards the front of the building."
"We booked our table, Sunday 10 Dec. The wait/queuing time for the carvery was over 20 mins. Also a queue for drinks."
"We rang beforehand to reserve a table and we were told we didn't have to reserve. Just turn up. When we arrived we were rudely told at the door that we should have reserved."
"We went on a Saturday tea time. There was an hour wait for starters, another 40 min for mains, alot of the food was unavailable, portion sizes were shocking."
"We came as a larger size table and had booked in advance, so no problem there except they only had one check in place at the front so had to walk threw the restaurant to check in."
